A method for controlling application access to network slicing service at a User Equipment (UE). The method includes: issuing an activation request for establishing network connectivity service for an application executing at the UE, the activation request including an application identifier of the application; determining a network slice for the application based on the activation request; performing a verification of the determined network slice, in accordance with network slicing operator policies; and upon successful verification of the determined network slice, creating a binding between the application identifier and the determined network slice.

Network slicing application access control

A device for repeating a Wi-Fi signal transmitted by an access point and a system for extending the coverage of the Wi-Fi access point. The device for repeating the Wi-Fi signal is configured to: receive, via a wired connection connected to a device for extending a Wi-Fi access point, a digital signal resulting from the analogue-digital conversion of an analogue signal from a power division of a signal intended to be transmitted by the Wi-Fi access point around a predetermined carrier frequency so as to deliver a first Wi-Fi signal; convert the digital signal received via the wired connection into an analogue signal and transmit the analogue signal around the predetermined carrier frequency, so as to deliver a second Wi-Fi signal substantially identical to the first Wi-Fi signal.

A method for accessing a service supplied on a mobile terminal by an application server contributing to supplying the service. The method is implemented by the mobile terminal and includes: transmitting a request having a subscriber identifier of a subscriber of a subscription with a mobile operator, the subscriber identifier being based on a piece of information supplied by a security module of the mobile terminal, and inserted in the request without intervention of the user; receiving a response including an identification code relating to the subscriber identifier; transmitting an authentication request Including the identification code, the request being transmitted to an authentication server of the mobile operator; receiving an authentication response including an authentication code relating to the identification code; and transmitting a service access request including the authentication code to the application server.

Access to a service with authentication based on a mobile terminal

A method of loading a subscription profile into a subscriber identification module of a target mobile terminal is described. The method can include sending a combined request for authentication and transfer of profile to an authentication system, the request containing a user identifier of the target mobile terminal and receiving in return a response message containing an activation code. The method can also include sending a request for downloading the subscription profile to a provisioning equipment item, the downloading request comprising the activation code, and, subsequent to a positive verification of the activation code by the provisioning equipment item, downloading the subscription profile into the subscriber identification module of the target mobile terminal.

Loading of a new subscription profile into an embedded subscriber identification module

A method is provided of installing a subscription profile, taken out with an operator of a mobile telecommunications network, on a mobile communication terminal containing an embedded module for subscriber identification. This method can include sending a domain name resolution request to a domain name server, this request including an identifier of a network server, and receiving, in response to this request, a response message containing a network address of the network server allowing the triggering of the loading of the profile. The subscription profile can then be loaded into the embedded module from a supply server of the network. A mobile terminal, a supply server and a domain name server can be configured to implement this method.

A telecommunications system is operable to provide a facility for a communications session to a mobile node using an internet protocol. When changing affiliation from one of a first and second packet data network to the other of the first and second packet data network, a mobile node is operable to generate a service level identifier representing a requested priority to be afforded to the internet packets communicated to and from the mobile node with respect to other internet packets communicated to and from other nodes. The mobile node is also operable to generate a binding update internet packet providing a care of address of the mobile and an indication of the service level identifier in the binding update internet packet and to communicate the binding update internet data packets to a home agent of the mobile node. The home agent is operable in response to the binding update to identify the service level identifier and to communicate the internet packets in accordance with the requested priority represented by the service level identifier. The telecommunications system can prioritise the transmission of internet packets according to a priority requested by the mobile node represented by the service level identifier thus reducing a likelihood that mobile node will experience delays or interruptions in the transmission of data.

A method is provided for activating, on a second network, a terminal having a memory module including a temporary identification datum and being associated in a central database with a first predetermined network. The method includes a first step of authenticating the memory module with the central database by way of the temporary identification datum, a step of determining a new identification datum following an activation of the terminal in the second network, and transmitting this new identification datum to the memory module for storage on the memory module. Also provided are an associated computing entity and a terminal containing the associated memory module.

Method of activation on a second network of a terminal comprising a memory module associated with a first network

A telecommunications system is operable to provide a facility for a communications session to a mobile node using an internet protocol. When changing affiliation from one of a first and second packet data network to the other of the first and second packet data network, a mobile node is operable to generate a service level identifier representing a requested priority to be afforded to the internet packets communicated to and from the mobile node with respect to other internet packets communicated to and from other nodes. The mobile node is also operable to generate a binding update internet packet providing a care of address of the mobile and an indication of the service level identifier in the binding update internet packet and to communicate the binding update internet data packets to a home agent of the mobile node. The home agent is operable in response to the binding update to identify the service level identifier and to communicate the internet packets in accordance with the requested priority represented by the service level identifier. The telecommunications system can prioritize the transmission of internet packets according to a priority requested by the mobile node represented by the service level identifier thus reducing a likelihood that mobile node will experience delays or interruptions in the transmission of data.

A telecommunications system provides a facility for mobile communications to a mobile node. A core network and a radio network are arranged to communicate the internet packets in accordance with a current configuration of routing and communications resources of at least one of the core network and the radio network. The mobile node is operable to generate a packet data connection activation request. The request is adapted to include a service level identifier representing a priority to be afforded to communicating internet packets to or from the mobile node with respect to the internet packets received from other mobile nodes. The core network is operable to adapt the current configuration of routing and communications resources of at least one of the core network and the radio network following a change of location of the mobile node with a relative priority determined in accordance with the service level identifier.

A packet radio network provides a facility for communicating internet packets to and/or from a mobile user equipment. In response to a packet data protocol activation request message requesting a common packet data protocol context, a serving support node is operable in combination with a gateway support node to establish a common packet data protocol context in association with a packet communications bearer. The common packet data protocol context is established to communicate internet protocol packets via the packet communications bearer according to an internet protocol version specified by the mobile user equipment for one or more communications sessions.

Packet radio network and method

A packet radio network provides a facility for communicating internet packets to and/or from a mobile user equipment. In response to a packet data protocol activation request message requesting a common packet data protocol context, the serving support node is operable in combination with the gateway support node to establish a common packet data protocol context in association with a common packet communications bearer. The common packet data protocol context is established to communicate internet protocol packets via the common packet communications bearer. The common packet communications bearer is shared with at least one other communications session and is formed by the gateway support node and the serving support node using a common tunnelling protocol bearer. Therefore a packet radio network is provided which can provide a common communications bearer which can be shared between different communications sessions.

A telecommunications system includes a packet radio network comprising a core network and a radio network that communicate internet packets in accordance with a configuration of the core network and the radio network. The mobile node establishes a communications bearer for communicating across the mobile radio network, to generate a packet data connection activation request, including a service level identifier representing a priority of the mobile node and to communicate the packet data connection request to the core network. The core network establishes a communications bearer with the mobile node in accordance with the packet data connection request and to adapts the routing configuration and communications resources following a change of location of the mobile node with a priority determined by the service level identifier. Through inclusion of the service level identifier in the packet data connection request, relative priority is given to mobile nodes requiring higher priority data transmission.

A packet radio network comprising a gateway support node, a serving support node and a radio network controller provides a facility for communicating internet packets with mobile user equipment. The gateway support node provides a packet data protocol context for controlling communication of internet packets between the packet radio network and mobile user equipment via a packet communications bearer. The serving support node connected to the gateway support node controls communications between the gateway support node and mobile user equipment forming the packet communications bearer. The radio network part provides a radio access bearer for communicating internet packets via a radio access interface with mobile user equipment. In response to a request message, the serving support node with the gateway support node establishes a common packet data protocol context with a packet communications bearer to communicate packets. The common packet communications bearer is shared with another communications session and formed by gateway support node and serving support node using a common tunnelling protocol bearer.

A packet radio network comprising a gateway support node, a serving support node and a radio network part provides a facility for communicating internet packets with mobile user equipment. The gateway support node provides a packet data protocol context for controlling communication of internet packets between the packet radio network and mobile user equipment via a packet communications bearer. The serving support node is connected to the gateway support node controls communications between the gateway support node and mobile user equipment forming the packet communications bearer. The radio network part provides a radio access bearer for communicating internet packets via a radio access interface with mobile user equipment. In response to a request message, the serving support node with the gateway support node establishes a common packet data protocol context with a packet communications bearer to communicate packets according to an internet protocol version specified by the mobile user equipment.
