A laser device is provided for generating a helical-shaped optical wave and includes: (i) a gain region located between one first end defined by a first mirror and a second end defined by an exit region, (ii) a second mirror arranged so as to form with the first mirror an optical cavity including the gain region and a gap between the exit region and the second mirror, (iii) apparatus for pumping the gain region so as to generate the optical wave, wherein the laser device further includes at least one apparatus for shaping the light intensity and/or phase profiles of the optical wave and arranged for selecting at least one rotary-symmetrical transverse mode of the optical wave, the rotary-symmetrical transverse mode being chosen between those with a radial index equal to zero and with an azimuthal index being an integer with a module higher or equal to 1.

The optoelectronic arrangement comprises a semiconductor nanowire intended to participate in the processing, notably in a reception and/or an emission, of a light concerned and a mirror reflecting the light concerned. The invention relates to a transparent substrate comprising at its surface a grating of lines of at least 200 light-diffusing elements, said elements being separated by domains with a different refractive index from that of the elements, the distance d between centers of gravity of neighboring elements varying in a non-monotonic manner from one edge of the grating to the other, so that for any group of 50 successive elements, the distance d between the centers of gravity of neighboring elements of said group is at least once greater than and at least once less than the mean distance dm of distances d between centers of gravity of neighboring elements of said group, dm lying between 75 nm and 200 &#x3bc;m. This substrate is transparent in direct vision and redirects the light while diffusing it without iridescence in a daylighting application.

Light-diffusing grating

A photonic crystal guided propagation structure. The structure includes a guide portion Wn, n being a positive real number or zero number, having a first configuration of rows of patterns, and a guide portion Wm, m being a real number, m&#x3e;n, having a second configuration of rows of patterns, and a transition zone of distance D located between guide portion Wn and guide portion Wm, in which patterns aligned with at least one row of patterns in the first configuration decrease in size over distance D to allow progressive passing from the first configuration of rows of patterns to the second configuration of rows of patterns. The structures can be applied to the area of integrated optics (semiconductor lasers, laser modulators, filters, multiplexors, etc.).
