A tire tread comprises a rubber composition based on at least from 50 to 100 phr of a first diene elastomer, the first diene elastomer being a polybutadiene-based elastomer, modified with a functional group capable of interacting with silica as reinforcing filler; optionally from 0 to 50 phr of a second diene elastomer; at least 20 phr of carbon black; less than 40 phr of silica as reinforcing filler; a coupling agent; a plasticizing system comprising a plasticizing resin exhibiting a glass transition temperature of greater than 20° C.; and a crosslinking system based on organic peroxide; the total content of the first diene elastomer and of the second diene elastomer in the composition being within a range extending from 80 to 100 phr.

A tire comprises an outer strip () having a tread (). The outer strip () has a central part and two axially outer parts and comprises at least two rubber compounds (M, M) making up at least 90% of the volume of the outer strip (). The first compound (M) is radially on the outside of the second compound (M), which makes up at least 60% of the axially outer parts and being disposed in a layer that is substantially continuous from one axially outer part to the other, said layer having a minimum thickness at least equal to 0.3 mm. The compound Mhas a modulus G* that is greater than 1.35 times and less than 3 times that of the compound M. The compound Mhas a dynamic loss at 0° C. greater than 0.5 and the compound Mhas a dynamic loss at 23° C. less than 0.3.

A rubber composition is based on at least: a diene elastomer; a reinforcing inorganic filler; an agent for coupling the reinforcing inorganic filler with the diene elastomer, said coupling agent being a blocked mercaptosilane of formula (I), as described in the claims; a hydrocarbon-based resin predominantly composed of monomers chosen from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene, methylcyclopentadiene and mixtures thereof, and a crosslinking system. A semi-finished article and a tire may comprise at least one such rubber composition.

Rubber compositions comprising a specific combination of a coupling agent and a hydrocarbon-based resin

A rubber composition based on at least: from 50 to 100 phr of one or more diene elastomers, referred to as very low glass transition temperature (Tg) diene elastomers, having a Tg within a range of from &#x2212;110&#xb0; C. to &#x2212;70&#xb0; C., selected from butadiene homopolymers, copolymers of butadiene and of a vinylaromatic monomer, having a content of vinylaromatic units of between 0 and 5% by weight, and mixtures thereof a reinforcing filler a crosslinking system; and from 40 to 150 phr of at least one hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin predominantly composed of units derived from Cmonomers, the resin having a content of aromatic protons of less than 25% and a content of ethylenic protons of less than 1%.

Rubber composition comprising a specific hydrocarbon resin

A rubber composition is based on at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a vulcanizing system and a plasticizing system, said reinforcing filler predominantly comprising, by weight, a silica with a very high specific surface area, with a CTAB specific surface area greater than 170 m/g, and said plasticizing system comprising at least more than 15 phr (parts by weight per hundred parts by weight of elastomer) of a hydrocarbon resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) between &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. and 20&#xb0; C.

Rubber composition comprising a very high specific surface area silica and a low glass transition temperature hydrocarbon resin

A tire, which has an improved grip on wet ground, includes a tread formed of at least a rubber composition. The rubber composition includes: 20 to 100 phr of a first diene elastomer bearing at least one SiOR function, with R being hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical, and with phr referring to parts by weight per hundred parts of elastomer; 100 to 160 phr of a reinforcing inorganic filler; and a plasticizing system. The plasticizing system includes: a content A of between 5 and 60 phr of a hydrocarbon resin having a Tg above 20&#xb0; C.; and a content B of between 5 and 60 phr of a liquid plasticizing agent. A total content A+B is greater than 45 phr. The rubber composition optionally includes 0 to 80 phr of a second diene elastomer.
