A helmet for protecting a head of a wearer, such as a hockey, lacrosse, football or other sports player. The helmet includes an outer shell and an inner padding disposed between the outer shell and the wearer's head when the helmet is worn. The inner padding includes a plurality of shock absorbers and an interconnector interconnecting the shock absorbers, each shock absorber being deformable in response to a rotational impact on the helmet such that an outer part of the shock absorber moves relative to an inner part of the shock absorber in a direction tangential to an angular movement of the outer shell due to the rotational impact.

Helmet for impact protection

Protective headgear that is wearable on a head of a user and may be configured to provide impact protection and contaminant protection. The protective headgear may comprise a helmet configured to protect the user's head against impacts and a contaminant blocker configured to protect against contaminants (e.g., infectants), such as pathogens (e.g., viruses, bacteria, or other microorganisms) or other biohazards, chemical hazards, or other hazardous substances, transmittable to or from the user (e.g. as part of spatter, an aerosol, or other droplets). The helmet and the contaminant blocker may be configured to connect or otherwise interact with one another to be usable together. This may facilitate their use to enhance protection of the user and/or an environment of the user, while maintaining performance of the user, including by providing breathability, being spatter proof, ensuring proper vision, being antifogging, being customizable, and/or having other desirable attributes.

Protective headgear

A hockey stick or other sports implement for a player. The hockey stick or other sports implement comprises an elongated member to be held by the player and an end cap mounted to the elongated member. The end cap comprises an end portion comprising an end of the end cap that defines a longitudinal end of the elongated member, and a hanging portion comprising a hanger to hang the hockey stick or other sports implement. The hanger is adjustable.

A sport helmet having an outer shell, an inner padding for covering at least partially the wearer's head, an occipital inner pad for facing the occipital region of the wearer's head, a rear support having an upper part hingedly mounted to the helmet and a lower part mounted to the occipital inner pad, and a biasing member having a portion abutting the rear inner surface of the outer shell such that the rear support and occipital inner pad are movable between a first position wherein the rear support is biased to extend inwardly from the rear inner surface, and a second position when the wearer puts on the sport helmet to cause the rear support and occipital inner pad to be deflected towards the rear inner surface while the rear support and occipital inner pad maintain pressure on the occipital region of the wearer's head.

A method of making an outer shell, the method comprising: (a) providing first and second sheets, each of the first and second sheets being made of a layer of high-density polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane or polycarbonate extruded with a layer of non-woven fabric; (b) providing a third sheet made of high-density polyethylene foam, polypropylene foam, polyurethane foam or polystyrene foam, the third sheet having top and bottom sides; (c) affixing a first layer of adhesive film on the top side of the third sheet; (d) affixing a second layer of adhesive film on the bottom side of the third sheet; (e) placing the third sheet between the first and second sheets such that the first layer of adhesive film of the third sheet contacts the layer of non-woven fabric of the first sheet and the second layer of adhesive film of the third sheet contacts the layer of non-woven fabric of the second sheet; (f) stitching together the first, second and third sheets in order to form a composite sheet; and (g) thermoforming the composite sheet for forming the outer shell wherein the outer shell has a shape suitable for a hockey or lacrosse leg pad, shoulder pads or elbow pad.
