A system and method for sealing a shaft disposed for rotation within a casing, where two axially-spaced seal rings of an oil film seal extend around the shaft and define a clearance therebetween. Oil is pumped into the clearance from an oil reservoir and a portion of the oil is received in an annular port defined in the casing between an outer labyrinth seal and one of the axially-spaced seal rings. The oil mixes with a process gas to for an oil and gas mixture. A blower is in fluid communication with the annular port and circulates the oil and gas mixture to a trap where the oil is separated from the process gas and a separated process gas is returned back to the annular port.

Shaft sealing system and method with seal oil recuperator system

A system and method for supplying clean dry gas to gas seals of a compressor. The system uses a rotary separator magnetically coupled to a source of rotational power, along with a gas stream cooling unit configured to condensate liquids out of a wet gas stream before the wet gas stream is supplied to the rotating separator. The system may further include a gas stream pressure booster, a heating unit to heat a dry gas stream generated by the rotary separator, and a controlled recirculation loop configured to continually recirculate the wet gas through the driven rotary separator until a desired amount of condensates are removed from the wet gas stream.

Driven separator for gas seal panels

A bearing assembly and method in which a bearing cage is disposed around a rotating member and a housing is disposed around the cage. A first portion of the radial outer surface of the cage extends in a slightly spaced relation to the corresponding portion of the inner surface of the housing, and a second portion of the radial outer surface of the cage projects from the first portion in a radial direction and engages the corresponding portion of the inner surface of the housing.

A sealing assembly for extending around a rotating shaft for preventing the transmission of fluids along the shaft, in which a sealing element is biased towards the rotary sealing part; and a pusher sleeve extends between the sealing element and a housing.

Shaft seal

A shaft seal in which a rotary sealing part is mounted coaxially with the sealing element and forms therewith a contactless primary seal between opposed faces of the sealing element and rotary sealing part to substantially prevent fluid flow across the primary seal from a high pressure radial side to a low-pressure radial side. An auxiliary sleeve forms a small gap between it and a seal housing and maintains the gap despite the presence of relatively high pressure at the high pressure radial side.

Anti-rotation and axial locking arrangement of a gas seal on its sleeve

A shaftless compressor module has a module casing containing an axial chamber and an annular chamber which is coaxial with the axial chamber. An annular motor stator can be fixedly positioned in the annular chamber coaxially with the longitudinal axis of the axial chamber. An annular motor rotor can be positioned in the annular chamber coaxially with the annular motor stator. A shaftless impeller is rotatably mounted within the axial chamber. The impeller has a plurality of impeller passageways, with one end of each passageway being open to the inlet of the module casing and the other end of each passageway being located in a radially outer periphery of the impeller. Magnetic bearings can counter axial thrust and radial thrust. Annular gas seals can prevent gas flow through the second chamber. A plurality of these modules can be connected together to form a multiple stage shaftless compressor wherein each impeller can be driven at a different speed. Two compressor modules can be connected together by a communication module so that the two compressor modules can have a common output or be in series with or without an intermediate side stream.
