A snap-fastenable coupling for a low pressure fluid transfer hose, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprises two semicylindrical pieces mounted on a portion of hose made of rubber or the like that is engaged on an insert. The two pieces are fixed together by resilient snap-fastening and they simultaneously secure the hose to the insert in sealed manner. The pieces have elastically deformable front ends enabling them to snap-fasten resiliently onto a peripheral projection of the endpiece.

A snap-fastenable coupling for a fluid duct, in particular for a motor vehicle, the coupling comprising a cylindrical bushing secured to one end of a duct for coupling to a tubular endpiece which is designed to be inserted into the bushing and which has a peripheral projection in the vicinity of its free end, and a cylindrical locking member fitted around the bushing and designed to co-operate with a portion of the bushing and with the peripheral projection on the endpiece to hold the endpiece engaged in the bushing, wherein the locking member has at least one longitudinal slot and is formed with two side tabs organized on respective opposite sides of said slot to enable the locking member to be opened for disconnection of the duct from the endpiece by applying thrust in two opposite directions on the tabs. The invention applies in particular to circuits for fluids under relatively high pressure in motor vehicles.

A quick and leaktight joining device for tubular pipes having two tubular elements to be joined together, a device for locking in the joined condition, and a connection and/or locking telltale which can move between a first, visible, position and a second, concealed, position. Upon joining, one of the tubular elements to be joined and/or a locking device ensure(s) that the telltale is driven from the first, visible, position into the second, concealed, position. The quick and leaktight joining device is used, particularly in the motor industry for joining an engine cooling circuit to the water box of a unit heater or to the joining of a medium-pressure oil circuit of a motor vehicle power-assisted steering circuit.

Quick and leaktight joining device for tubular pipes

Two hoses in the cooling circuit of a vehicle engine are secured to respective tubular members for coupling to respective tubular endpieces of a heat exchanger, e.g. a radiator or a heater. The tubular members have respective through openings extending transversely to their longitudinal axes, and they are associated with a plate disposed in the vicinity of said openings. Each endpiece has a catch groove associated with a respective ramp. In the coupled position, the grooves coincide the openings. Respective branches of a U-shaped spring clip are received in the openings and engage in the grooves when the endpieces are pushed into the tubular members, thereby snap-fastening the coupling device together. The tips of the branches have respective lugs that co-operate with tabs of the plate. The tab are shaped to cam the lugs during snap-fastening in such a manner as to ensure that, providing snap-fastening has taken place properly, the entire spring clip is shifted to a position that is visibly distinct for ease of checking and that is also locked such that uncoupling can be performed only by means of a special tool for splaying the branches apart.
