A method for protecting a unit for converting a web substrate to limit a jam of the substrate inside the unit, the unit converting the substrate when the unit is stopped, in a packaging production machine: the steps of: detecting at the outlet of the unit that the converted web does not come out; stopping a motor of an infeed arrangement to prevent the substrate from entering the unit; stopping a motor of a feathering drive; and simultaneously stopping the machine, and guiding the substrate to an accumulation storage.

Method for protecting a converting unit for converting a web substrate, feeding station and packaging production machine

An arrangement () for driving a flat substrate along a longitudinal direction, the arrangement being mounted in a packaging production machine. The substrate has a surface that has sustained at least one modification. The arrangement includes a device () for driving the substrate along the longitudinal direction, and a device for bearing the substrate against the driving device (), and having at least one bearing zone () facing toward the driving device (). The substrate is engaged and driven between the driving device () and the bearing device. The bearing zone () has a transverse dimension (D) and position (Y), chosen as a function of a transverse dimension and a position of the modification on the substrate, so as to prevent damaging the modification between the driving device () and the bearing device.

Arrangement for driving a flat substrate in a packaging production machine

A device for feeding a converting unit with a web substrate, the converting unit converting the substrate when stopped. The device includes a main drive roller rotating on a main shaft a main electric drive motor () rotating (T) the main roller (), a satellite roller oscillating about the main roller (), between upstream and downstream on the path of a substrate. Two lateral levers secured to the main shaft hold the satellite roller and are mounted on the main shaft. The substrate is maintained between the main and satellite rollers to change cyclically between a constant speed to a zero speed at the exit side of the satellite roller. At least one secondary electric drive motor oscillates the main shaft, the two lateral levers and the satellite roller.

Device for feeding a converting unit with a web substrate for a feeding station in a packaging production machine

A coupling device for driving an engraved cylinder of a printing device. The coupling device comprises a single part of chromium, nickel and molybdenum alloyed steel having undergone core hardening. The coupling device includes a central cylindrical portions, first and second flanges at the respective first and second ends of the cylindrical portion, each flange having a side portion operable to distort under stress and act as a membrane. The ratio of the difference between the diameter and the flange and the diameter of the central portion divided by the average thickness of the side portion of the flange is between 7 and 15.

Coupling device for the driving of a printing device cylinder

A transformation station for a packaging production machine comprises side frames between which tool-carrier cassettes are mounted. The side frames support slides on which members slide for the mounting of the tool-carrier cassettes. The members for mounting the tool-carrier cassettes comprise cassette supports that can be moved in opposition across and according to material advancing direction dimensions of the tool-carrier cassettes. The cassette supports are fitted with first devices for attaching in position the cassette supports and second devices for locking the tool-carrier cassettes to the supports.
