A device for measuring permeability of a filter cartridge seal includes a blocking member for blocking an input to the filter cartridge and a housing for tightening the seal. A removable chamber wall is configured to form a sealed chamber with the housing and the blocking member. Pressure in the sealed chamber is varied to test the seal and to detect leaks.

A system for characterizing a water retention device may include a test pipe including a mount section for holding the water retention device to be tested; an injector to inject, upstream of the mount section, an air flow loaded with at least one of dust and droplets of water; at least one sensor for determining a distribution of sizes of the at least one of the dust and water particles, and a quantity of water retained in the mount section; and a calculator receiving the measured distribution of dust and water particles delivered by the at least one sensor to determine therefrom a dust and water retention level in the water retention device.

System and process for characterization of the operation of water retention device

A system for testing at least one air filter element is provided. The system includes a test rig, wherein the test rig includes an elongated duct, and at least one measurement device coupled to the duct. The at least one measurement device is configured to measure at least one characteristic representative of a condition within the duct. At least one air filter element is coupled within the test rig. At least one first salt spray test is performed on the at least one air filter element. The collected salt spray water and equivalent amount of dry salt remaining in the test rig are quantified. At least one second salt spray test is performed on the at least one air filter element, wherein the at least one air filter element is dust loaded prior to the at least one second salt spray test.

Method and system for testing filter element performance

According to the method for controlling a filter () for an air intake duct of a turbine: the filter () is exposed to an incident flow of sprayed salt water; and parameters of the flow on either side of the filter, which are representative of the salt retention capability of the filter, are measured.
