The disclosed apparatus may include (1) a cage that (A) is coupled to a circuit board of a telecommunications device and (B) houses the optical module when the optical module is installed in the telecommunications device, (2) a heatsink that (A) makes physical contact with the optical module via an opening of the cage and (B) absorbs heat generated by the optical module during operation in the telecommunications device, and (3) a gasket that (A) resides between the heatsink and the cage and (B) reduces electromagnetic noise in connection with the operation of the optical module in the telecommunications device.
