The invention concerns a method for controlling high pressure fuel supply of a set of injectors connected to a common high pressure chamber, called common rail C in a direct injection fuel circuit, through a high pressure pump (P), by acting on the low pressure supply of said pump (P) through an electromagnetic slide valve (E), controlled by the computer managing the operating conditions of the engine which consists in providing, inside the electromagnetic valve (E) one or more internal leakage flows, either from high pressure to low pressure, or from low pressure upstream of the electromagnetic valve (E) to the low pressure downstream thereby solving the specific problems related to the three operating modes of the engine: engine brake, engine shutdown, idle speed.

Device for controlling flow rate of a direct injection fuel pump

A fuel injection valve comprises a hollow body in which there is formed a fuel circuit having an outlet opening. A guide member has a stem located in the passage and secured to the body. A bulged end portion of the guide member projects through the opening and is formed with a valve seat surface. An annular valve closure member is slidably mounted on the guide member and sealingly movable in the opening. A coil in the body is adapted to move a valve closure member into an abutment position clear from the seat. When the valve closure member is in that open position, a conical jet of fuel is delivered by the valve.

Injection valve for an internal combustion engine

The solenoid valve of the invention comprises a housing having a fluid flow opening passage therethrough. A movable assembly is subjected to the opposing actions of a return spring and an electromagnetic coil. The movable assembly comprises an armature whose abutment against a guide defines an end position and a needle fixed to the armature, which defines with the opening a passage of minimum non zero cross-sectional area when the assembly is in the end position.

Solenoid valves, particularly for carburetors

A fuel control system comprises a probe in contact with the exhaust gases, a circuit for supplying fuel and air to the engine, having a solenoid valve for metering at least the fuel flow, a closed-loop electronic control circuit connected to the probe and energizing the solenoid valve in dependence on the signal from the probe. The loop is opened responsive to predetermined operating conditions of the engine. Further means control the solenoid valve in dependence on another engine operating parameter during open-loop operation. A memory is provided for storing a value representative of the control of the solenoid valve means during closed-loop operation.
