Horological setting machine and setting method

Horological setting and/or adjustment mechanism

A method adjusting oscillation frequency of a sprung balance assembly formed at random from balance springs and balance wheels. A production mechanism is set to limit a sample standard deviation of a single batch of balance springs to a predetermined maximum value, and to limit a sample standard deviation of a single batch of balance wheels to a predetermined maximum value within a given unbalance tolerance. The mean of the balance population is classified according to the mean of the balance springs, to obtain a difference corresponding to a maximum inertia decrease value of the balances, between extreme gaussian distribution values of balances and of balance springs. A random balance spring sample is taken from the single batch of balance springs and a random balance from among the single batch of balances. The inertia of the balance is adjusted according to a torque value of the balance spring sample.

Method for adjusting the oscillation frequency of a sprung balance assembly

A method of adjusting oscillation frequency of a timepiece regulating assembly with no index assembly, to a predetermined oscillation frequency, including: randomly taking a particular balance spring assembly from a production of toleranced products; measuring return torque of the balance spring assembly; randomly taking a balance from a production of toleranced products; calculating theoretical inertia of the particular balance required to achieve the predetermined oscillation frequency, according to the measured return torque of the balance spring; measuring real inertia of the particular balance; and by direct action on the particular balance, correcting the inertia of the particular balance to the calculated theoretical inertia value to obtain the predetermined oscillation frequency for the regulating assembly formed by the particular balance, and by the particular balance spring assembly.

Method of adjusting the oscillation frequency of a timepiece sub-assembly

A balance set for a timepiece, with inertia adjustment for adjusting inertia and/or balancing and/or oscillation frequency of the balance, with a balance including an insert inserted into a recess of a felloe connected to a hub by a joining surface. The balance includes on the felloe thereof an elastic holding mechanism including two antagonistic elastic lips which, when stressed, allow insertion of the insert into the recess and which, when released, prevent removal of the insert from the recess. A sprung balance or a timepiece can incorporate such a balance.

Balance with inertia adjustment using an insert

The invention concerns a timepiece balance (), with inertia adjustment including a hub () pivoting about a balance staff () and a felloe (), connected to said hub () by a joining surface (). It is wherein said felloe () is made in a single piece with said joining surface () and said hub () in a micro-machinable material, or silicon, or quartz, or a compound thereof, or an alloy derived from MEMS technology, or an alloy obtained by the 'LIGA' method, and in that it includes at least a first resilient arm () including coupling means () arranged for cooperating, in various coupling positions, with complementary coupling means () comprised in said felloe () to form, in the coupling position, a closed loop, the inertia of which relative to said balance staff () is variable according to said coupling positions. The invention also concerns a sprung balance or a timepiece incorporating a balance of this type.
