A fan assembly is provided and includes a fan body, a motor-driven impeller contained within the fan body, and a filter assembly engaged with the fan body. The fan body can include an air inlet defined by an inlet surface. The motor-driven impeller can generate an airflow. The filter assembly covers part of the inlet surface and may include a filter and a housing for the filter. The housing has a filter retention assembly for releasably retaining the filter in the housing upon actuation of a user interface. When the user interface is actuated, the filter may slide freely along the housing and be released from the housing.

Fan assembly with a removable filter assembly

A device configured to generate an air flow, the device including: a compressor; an air flow duct arranged to convey a flow of air generated by the compressor; a gas-filled cavity disposed beside the air flow duct; a wall separating the air flow duct and the cavity, the wall including at least one aperture; and an acoustic resistive screen covering and held in tension over the aperture of the wall. The screen is partially permeable and in fluid contact with air in the air flow duct and gas in the cavity and is configured to attenuate noise transmitted between the duct and the cavity. The resistive screen and the cavity together define a noise-damping resonator.

Noise reduction for air flow devices

A fan assembly, including a fan body including first and second retention assemblies and an inlet surface defining an air inlet. A motor-driven impeller contained within the fan body generates an airflow. A filter assembly attached to the fan body includes one or more flexible filter media, a first engagement element positioned at first edge of the filter media, and a second engagement element positioned at a second, opposite edge of the filter media. The filter assembly is furlable, and the first and second engagement elements releasably engage with the respective first and second retention assemblies of the fan body to retain the filter assembly tautly over the inlet surface in an at least partially unfurled state, such that, in use, airflow drawn through the air inlet by the motor-driven impeller is drawn through the filter media. The fan body is cylindrical in shape and the filter assembly wraps around substantially all the fan body.

An air amplifier for directing airflow from a fan assembly, and a fan assembly including an air amplifier. The air amplifier includes an inlet for receiving airflow from a fan assembly, and an airflow cavity. The airflow cavity includes a first wall and a second wall that define an airflow passageway extending towards an exhaust outlet for emitting air. A lip is provided at or towards a front edge of the first wall. The lip extends towards the second wall, thereby partially inhibiting airflow from the exhaust outlet.

Air amplifier

A nozzle for a fan assembly is described. The nozzle includes a first duct through which a first airflow moves, the first duct having a first outlet for emitting the first airflow. The nozzle further includes a second duct through which a second airflow moves, the second duct having a second outlet for emitting the second airflow. The first and second outlets are arranged such that the first and second airflows collide to generate a combined airflow having a direction defined by the relative flow rates of the first and second airflows. The first duct then includes a portion moveable to vary the flow rate of the first airflow.

Nozzle for a fan assembly

A device configured to generate an air flow, the device including: a compressor; an air flow duct arranged to convey a flow of air generated by the compressor; a gas-filled cavity disposed beside the air flow duct; a wall separating the air flow duct and the cavity, the wall including at least one aperture; and an acoustic resistive screen covering and held in tension over the aperture of the wall. The screen is in fluid contact with air in the air flow duct and gas in the cavity and is configured to resist air flow between the duct and the cavity. The resistive screen and the cavity together define a noise-damping resonator.

An air amplifier for directing airflow from a fan assembly, and a fan assembly including an air amplifier. The air amplifier includes an inlet for receiving airflow from a fan assembly, and an airflow cavity. The airflow cavity includes a first wall and a second wall that define an airflow passageway extending towards an exhaust outlet for emitting air. A divider body is provided within the passageway. The divider body divides the airflow passageway into a first exhaust passageway and a second exhaust passageway. The divider body tapers towards the exhaust outlet.

A fan assembly, including a fan body including an inlet surface defining an air inlet. A motor-driven impeller contained within the fan body generates an airflow. A filter assembly is arranged to removably engage with the fan body and to cover at least a portion of the inlet surface when engaged with the fan body. The filter assembly includes a filter and a housing for the filter, the housing being provided with a filter retention assembly for releasably retaining the filter in the housing, and a user interface for actuating the filter retention assembly to release the filter from the housing. Upon actuation of the filter retention assembly via the user interface, the filter is free to slide relative to the housing. Preferably, the user interface is positioned on the housing.

There is provided a nozzle for a fan assembly. The nozzle comprises an air inlet for receiving an air flow, a first air outlet for emitting an air flow and a second air outlet for emitting an air flow. The first and second air outlets comprise a pair of curved slots that are provided on a face of the nozzle, and the first and second air outlets are oriented towards a convergent point. The first air outlet and the second air outlet may be oriented towards a convergent point that is located on a central axis of the face of the nozzle.

Ventilating fan

There is provided a nozzle for a fan assembly. The nozzle comprises an air inlet, a first air outlet for emitting an air flow and a second air outlet for emitting an air flow, the first and second air outlets together defining an aggregate air outlet of the nozzle, a single internal air passageway extending between the air inlet and the first and second air outlets, and a valve for controlling an air flow from the air inlet to the first and second air outlets. The valve comprises one or more valve members that are moveable to adjust the size of the first air outlet relative to the size of the second air outlet while keeping the size of the aggregate air outlet of the nozzle constant, and wherein the air outlets are oriented towards a convergent point.

There is provided a nozzle for a fan assembly. The nozzle comprises a nozzle body, an air inlet for receiving an air flow, and one or more air outlets for emitting the air flow. The nozzle body has the general shape of a truncated ellipsoid, with a first truncation forming a face of the nozzle body and a second truncation forming a base of the nozzle body. The one or more air outlets are provided on the face of the nozzle body. Preferably, the air inlet is provided at the base of the nozzle body.
