An inspection system () for inspecting a lighting device () during an assembly process of the lighting device; wherein the lighting device comprises a base plate () and a plurality of components () mounted on the base plate; wherein the inspection system comprises: a light source () arranged for illuminating the lighting device according to a first light output spectrum for providing a luminance contrast between the base plate and the plurality of components; an imaging unit/camera () arranged for capturing a first image of the illuminated lighting device; a controller () comprising a processing unit for determining a luminance contrast measure of the captured first image; wherein the processing unit is further arranged for, when the luminance contrast measure of the captured first image exceeds a threshold value, adapting the first light output spectrum, and wherein the imaging unit is further arranged for capturing a second image of the lighting device illuminated according to the adapted first light output spectrum; and wherein the controller further comprises: a comparing unit arranged for comparing the second image with a reference image; a determination unit arranged for determining a defect in the base plate and/or in the plurality of components based on the comparison.

Inspection system for inspecting a lighting device during an assembly process of the lighting device and a method thereof

A method is proposed of encoding a change time The change time indicates a change in time of a characteristic luminance of the video data. The characteristic luminance summarizes the set of luminances of pixels the video data. The encoding of the time variation of the characteristic luminance provides a more compact and accurate storage and transmission of content.

An apparatus generates an image signal in which pixels are encoded in N-bit words which encode at least a luma per pixel. A receiver () obtains high dynamic range pixel values in accordance with a first color representation in M-bitwords. A first generator () includes the high dynamic range pixel values in the image signal in the N-bit words according to a second color representation. A second generator () includes in the image signal an indicator that high dynamic range pixel values are encoded. In some examples, the high dynamic range pixel values may be provided in a segment that can alternatively contain high or low dynamic range pixel values, and the indicator may indicate which type of data is included. The approach may e.g. facilitate introduction of high dynamic range capability into e.g. HDMI systems.

High dynamic range image signal generation and processing

A three dimensional (3D) video signal is processed in a video device. The device has generating means for generating an output signal for transferring the video data via a high-speed digital interface like HDMI to a 3D display, which selectively generate a 3D display signal for displaying the 3D video data on a 3D display operative in a 3D mode, a 2D display signal for displaying 2D video data on the 3D display operative in a 2D mode, or a pseudo 2D display signal by including 2D video data in the output signal for displaying the 2D video data on the 3D display operative in the 3D mode. Processing means detects a request to display 2D video data on the 3D display, while the 3D display is operative in the 3D mode, and, in response to the detection, the generating means are set to generate the pseudo 2D display signal for maintaining the 3D mode of the 3D display.

Switching between 3D video and 2D video

Systems, and methods are described herein for identifying and/or controlling influence and/or potential influence of one or more signals on one or more properties of light emitted by one or more lighting units (). In various embodiments, one or more signals may be identified that influence, or potentially influence, a manner in which a lighting unit controller () controls one or more properties of light to be emitted by a lighting unit (). In some embodiments, a user instruction may be received to alter the manner in which the one or more signals influence how the lighting unit controller () controls the one or more properties of light emitted by the lighting unit () may be received. The lighting unit controller () may control a manner in which light output of the lighting unit () is influenced by the one or more signals in accordance with the user instruction.

Identifying and controlling signal influence on one or more properties of emitted light

A three-dimensional source device provides a three-dimensional display signal for a display via a high speed digital interface, such as HDMI. The three-dimensional display signal comprises a sequence of frames. The sequence of frames comprises units, each unit corresponding to frames comprising video information intended to be composited and displayed as a three-dimensional image. The three-dimensional source device includes three-dimensional transfer information comprising at least information about the video frames in the unit. The display detects the three-dimensional transfer information, and generates the display control signals based in dependence on the three-dimensional transfer information. The three-dimensional transfer information in an additional info frame packet comprises information about the multiplexing scheme for multiplexing frames into the three-dimensional display signal, the multiplexing scheme being selected of group of multiplexing schemes including frame alternating multiplexing, the three-dimensional transfer information indicating the number of frames being sequentially arranged within the video data period.

Transferring of three-dimensional image data

Three dimensional [3D] image data and auxiliary graphical data are combined for rendering on a 3D display () by detecting depth values occurring in the 3D image data, and setting auxiliary depth values for the auxiliary graphical data () adaptively in dependence of the detected depth values. The 3D image data and the auxiliary graphical data at the auxiliary depth value are combined based on the depth values of the 3D image data. First an area of attention () in the 3D image data is detected. A depth pattern for the area of attention is determined, and the auxiliary depth values are set in dependence of the depth pattern.

Method and apparatus for combining 3D image and graphical data

A three dimensional [3D] video signal is processed in a video device (). The device has generating means () for generating an output signal for transferring the video data via a high-speed digital interface like HDMI to a 3D display, which selectively generate a 3D display signal for displaying the 3D video data on a 3D display operative in a 3D mode, a 2D display signal for displaying 2D video data on the 3D display operative in a 2D mode, or a pseudo 2D display signal by including 2D video data in the output signal for displaying the 2D video data on the 3D display operative in the 3D mode. Processing means () detect a request to display 2D video data on the 3D display, while the 3D display is operative in the 3D mode, and, in response to the detection, the generating means are set to generate the pseudo 2D display signal for maintaining the 3D mode of the 3D display.

This invention provides a process which allows better quality rendering of video on any display. The process proposes encoding, video data and additional data. The additional data includes a change time instant. The change time instant can be used to indicate a change in time of a characteristic luminance. The characteristic luminance summarizes the set of luminances of pixels in an image of the video data. The process includes generating on descriptive data based on the video data and encoding and outputting the descriptive data as additional data.

The present disclosure is directed to inventive methods and apparatus for lighting control and for providing effects upon activation/deactivation. For example, various methods and apparatus are described for controlling various selected properties of light emitted by an LED-based lighting unit () with multiple LEDs () using, for example, a dimmer switch () and/or a predefined sequence of energizing LEDs.
