A water drain valve system structured to drain water from a fuel-water separator. The system includes a collection vessel structured to temporarily store water, a liquid level sensor structured to monitor a level of the temporarily stored water, a drainage port extending radially from the collection vessel and having a port inlet and a port outlet, and a valve assembly. The port inlet receives water to be drained from the collection vessel, the water flowing through the drainage port and exiting through the port outlet. The valve assembly is movable between a closed position in which the port outlet is closed, and an open position, in which the port outlet is open, to selectively allow water to be drained from the collection vessel. The valve assembly includes a solenoid coupled to a seal member, the seal member closing the port outlet in the closed position of the valve assembly.

A filtration system comprises a housing having a first housing end and a second housing end. The housing defines a central compartment therein. The housing includes an alignment tab disposed on the second housing end. The alignment tab protrudes from the second housing end towards the first housing end. A filter element is positioned within the housing. The filter element includes a first endcap, a second endcap, and filter media positioned between and extending axially between the first endcap and the second endcap. The filter media defines a central opening extending axially therein. An alignment notch is disposed on the second endcap, the alignment notch protruding from the second endcap toward the first endcap.

A connection between a fluid filter and a head is described that permits quick connection/disconnection between the two without requiring disconnection of fluid lines from the head. The head includes a lock to connect inlet and outlet fluid lines to a fluid filter using a non-threaded attachment method. The lock that retains the head to the fluid filter is flexible to allow for connection and disconnection. The head has fluid inlet and outlet ports to which fluid lines attach to flow unfiltered fluid into and filtered fluid out of the fluid filter when the head is connected to the fluid filter. The head closes the fluid filter, which has a protrusion with adjacent passageways that guide and separate unfiltered from filtered fluid.

A mounting assembly is described that has an interface designed to increase the stress margin of at least the module side of the assembly, for example in a liquid filtration module, and to increase ease of assembling its mounting components. The interface reduces the failure of the mounting assembly at least on the module side, so that if failure of the mounting assembly occurs, such an occurrence is less likely to be at the interface and on the module side, thereby reducing the need to replace more complex and expensive components that may be on the module side. Generally, the mounting assembly includes a mounting interface and a mounting bracket connectable to the mounting interface. A retention component is configured to maintain connection of the mounting interface to the mounting bracket.

Improvements to 'no filter, no run' fluid filtration systems are described. In one example, a filter includes a movable pin cage that has a first pre-installation position adjacent the bottom end plate and is temporarily connected thereto by a snap connection system, and a second position adjacent the upper end plate where it performs a valve interaction function. In another example, a filter includes non-centered valve pins that are rotatable relative to an upper end plate of the filter.

A vehicular light assembly () is held in an operative position within a liner () by an intermediate retainer () which has spring-like tongues (). The retainer () is held in position on the liner () by fixation tabs () which are bent through the receiving hole () and pinch the liner () against a mounting plate () of the retainer (). Segmented shoulders () on a sidewall () of the light assembly () are received in channels () on each of the tongues () and seat above the tips () of each tongue () to retain the light assembly () in its operative position. By simple application of a manual force, a service person is able to install or remove the light assembly () from its operative position in the liner (). Thus, no tools are required to install or service the light assembly (). Furthermore, the intermediate retainer () functions as a single unit to interconnect the liner () and the light assembly ().

An interchangeable flashlight-cargo lamp system includes a docking station that is suitable for mounting either a cargo lamp or a rechargeable flashlight. The flashlight doubles as a cargo lamp when mounted within the docking station. Both the cargo lamp and the flashlight have common mounting elements that mate with corresponding mounting features of the docking station to permit either device to be inserted into and removed from the docking station. The interchangeable devices also include electrical contacts that mate with corresponding electrical contacts in the docking station. The flashlight further includes a battery that is recharged when the flashlight is mounted in the docking station.

A lighting assembly () is adjustable between flood and spot lighting conditions for selectively illuminating an interior passenger compartment in a motor vehicle. The assembly () includes a housing () which clamps to a supporting member, such as a headliner (), via a sleeve () interacting with a rotary cam lock (). An LED light source () is orbitally supported within the housing () for projecting light in a directionally adjustable manner. A lens () is disposed in the light path () and is moveable between an extended spot position for task lighting and a retracted flood position for general illumination within the interior compartment. A switch () is responsive to movement of the lens () into its spot position for automatically energizing the LED (). The switch () opens, thus de-energizing the LED () when the lens () is returned to its flood condition. A lighting control circuit (') is responsive to an override signal, such as from a door switch (&#x2032;), for independently activating the light source () when the lens () is in its flood position. The light source () is supported for orbital movement within the housing () by a gimbal mechanism which includes an inner gimbal () carried in a cross (). Pintals () establish intersecting perpendicular axis (A,B) to accomplish the orbital movement. A latch mechanism () cooperates with leaf springs () by controlling movement of the lens () between its flood and spot conditions by a repeated push impulse applied by the finger of an operator. The switch () is incorporated into the leaf springs ().
