An improved infant support structure is disclosed herein. The swing contains a frame, a motor compartment, a hanger arm, and a seat. The frame is configured to suspend the motor compartment, the hanger arm, and the seat above the support surface. The hanger arm extends downwardly from the motor compartment, and is capable of a first type of motion and a second type of motion. The first type of motion may cause the hanger arm and seat to rotate about a vertical axis. The second type of motion may cause the hanger arm and seat to sway or swing along a substantially circular curvilinear arc within a horizontal plane. The motor compartment may cause the hanger arm and seat to simultaneously perform the first and second types of motion.

A control system for a child swing that comprises a drive mechanism that includes a motor configured to impart torque to the at least one swing arm so that a child seat moves in an arcuate path. A phase control subsystem generates a motor drive signal configured to maintain a desired lead angle between a phase of the drive mechanism and a phase of the swing arm. An amplitude control subsystem configured to steer the phase control subsystem based on a correlation of an actual height of the child seat to a selected height of the child seat.

An apparatus includes a support frame, a resilient member, a seat, and a retainer. The resilient member has a first end portion configured to be coupled to the support frame and a second end portion, opposite from the first end portion. The seat is configured to be coupled to the second end portion such that the seat is suspended from the support frame by the resilient member. At least one of the first end portion and the second end portion includes multiple sleeves, each defining an opening therein. A portion of the retainer is configured to be disposed within a first one of the sleeves and coupled to at least one of the seat and the support frame such that a position of the seat relative to the support frame is adjustable by disposing the portion of the retainer within a second one of the sleeves.

A child's swing support structure includes a seat assembly having a first configuration and a second configuration. The seat of the swing support structure is able to be configured in a reclined configuration for infants or an upright configuration for toddlers. The seat can be locked into the upright configuration when a tray is connected to the seat of the swing support structure. The seat is rotatably coupled to a frame of the swing support structure, where the swing is free to swing back and forth with respect to the frame. Furthermore, a drive mechanism may be attached to the frame for mechanically swinging the seat back and forth.

The child swing also comprises a phase control subsystem configured to use an electrical signal representative of a phase of the drive mechanism and the adjustment signal to generate a motor drive signal configured to cause the desired adjustment to the phase of the drive mechanism.

First and second spaced arcuate posts extend upwardly from the lower member, each of the posts having a distal end portion. A seat portion is disposed between and coupled to the posts. A first end of a toy bar is secured to the distal end portion of one of the posts, and a second end of the toy bar is secured to the distal end portion of the other of the posts.
