Audio/speech-based and text-based interactions between a transaction terminal and a user conducting a transaction are provided. In an embodiment, the terminal may establish a direct wireless connection to a user-operated device or an indirection wireless connection to the user-operated device through a proxy device. In an embodiment, the wireless connection is automatically established through a different out-of-band wireless communication between the terminal and the user-operated device. In an embodiment, text-based data for the transaction are provided over a second simultaneous wireless connection that is different from the wireless connection associated with providing the audio/speech data. In an embodiment, audio/speech data provided from the user during the transaction are enhanced for security and are filtered for accuracy using audio-based processing and/or image-based processing. In an embodiment, a speech-to-text and text-to-speech interface for a transaction at the terminal is provided.

Secure wireless audio and speech at a transaction terminal

A host device is included within a housing of a first peripheral; the host devices includes an internal connection within the housing to the first peripheral. Each composited integrated peripheral device includes two or more second peripherals. A combination of the host device, the composite integrated peripheral devices, standalone peripheral devices, and accessory modules is identified. Housings associated with the combination are attached to, placed on, or placed adjacent to one or more of the accessory modules of the combination. In an embodiment, accessory modules are arranged in a layout that defines a clearance area for custom access and the corresponding peripherals of the combination are connected to the host device. The host device processes self-service transactions for customers with disabilities using the corresponding peripherals and the accessory modules within the layout.

Accessibility self-service terminal (SST) with devices and modules for custom configurations

A base self-service terminal (SST) system comprises a host device and a first set of peripherals. The base SST system can operate in standalone mode to process self-service transactions when the base SST system is placed on a horizontal surface or mounted to a pedestal. The base SST system processes the self-service transactions utilizing the first set of peripherals and a second set of peripherals when the base SST system is docked within an integrated peripheral device or a peripheral bridge appliance. The integrated peripheral device comprises the second set of peripherals or the second set of peripherals are made available through the peripheral bridge appliance. One or more additional peripherals are attachable and removable from the base SST system and one or more accessory modules are attachable and removable from the base SST system, the integrated peripheral device, and/or the peripheral bridge appliance.
