The present invention relates to orally ingestible, pharmaceutical compositions containing at least one pharmaceutical active and a taste masking component.

Pharmaceutical compositions

A beverage opacifier is disclosed which comprises (a) one or more substantially saturated fat as a clouding agent, and (b) one or more weighting agent. The beverage opacifier can be used as an emulsion containing (a) from about 0.1% to about 25% clouding agent, (b) from about 1% to about 30% emulsifier, (c) from about 1% to about 20% of a weighting agent, and (d) from about 25% to about 97.9% water. This invention also includes said beverage opacifiers combined with a flavor oil or emulsion. This invention further comprises beverage concentrates, and carbonated or non-carbonated beverages containing these beverage opacifiers.

Beverage opacifier

Artificially sweetened fruit juice containing beverages are disclosed. The beverages have an increased background pulp volume. This reduces the taste negatives of artificial sweeteners.

Fruit juice containing diet beverage

This invention relates to a storage-stable carbonated beverage containing fruit, citrus, or berry juice which has the taste of a cola. No kola nut extract, or caramel color is present. One or more juices, in particular plum juice, alone or mixed with other suitable juices, is employed to provide the taste of a cola without the use of kola nut extract. The beverage comprises carbonated water, juices, acid, and natural flavorings. No artificial cola flavorings are employed.
