A security frame for enclosing DVD's or other articles for deterring tampering with the DVD's or removing the DVD's from the security frame. The security frame is thin such that it fits in the display racks for the DVD's and has a large open surface area on the front and back faces so a customer can see the packaging information on the DVD. The security frame can be removed at the store with a special key. The security frame is hinged for opening and closing and has tines, which overlap and lock the security frame together. The security frame is easy to close and lock by pressing the top frame member against the bottom frame member and easy to unlock and open with a key.

Security frame

A security package for enclosing DVD's and other articles for deterring the tampering with the shrink wrapped protecting the product or removing the product from the security package. The security package is made from inexpensive material and can be placed on the product at the factory. The security package is thin such that it fits in the display racks for the product and is made of a clear material such that a customer can see the packaging information on the package. The security package can be removed at the store with a special key, or when purchased the consumer may take the security package home with the product therein and remove the security package at home. The security package may be removed and reused at the store or sold with the product inside. Since the security package is inexpensive it may be disposed of rather than reused.

Security package

A security device for use in retail establishments to lock onto articles which are for sale and which optionally has enclosed an electronic article surveillance tag to prevent shoplifting. The security device has four hinged walls with flanges for wrapping around and securing an item therein. The front wall has a locking mechanism and a strap. A male member on the locking mechanism fits through apertures in the strap and into a female locking mechanism portion. The locking mechanism cannot be opened without a key. The locking mechanism comprises a pair of asymmetric tines which are on opposite sides of an asymmetric engagement member. To lock the security device the asymmetric engagement member spreads apart the asymmetric tines until the asymmetric engagement member gets passed the asymmetric tines. The asymmetric tines close behind the asymmetric engagement member and lock the asymmetric engagement member in place. The asymmetric tines must be separated by an asymmetric key to allow the asymmetric engagement member to pass by the asymmetric tines to unlock the security device. The asymmetric tines and the asymmetric engagement member are shaped to prevent tampering with the locking mechanism and making the security device harder to open without a complimentary asymmetrically shaped key.

Security strap

A universal media storage container for any of a number of different media devices including compact discs, digital video discs and game cartridges. The container accommodates some media both in and out of the manufacturer's container. A unique disc loading and retention structure renders the container easier to use and even more secure in protection of digital discs. The media enclosure of the invention comprises a pair of rectangular, planar sides interconnected by a spline and configured for forming an enclosed rectangular volume. One of the planar sides provides various integral structural members to receive discs, cartridges, etc. in a secure and protected position. In addition, various members facilitate receiving digital discs on a plurality of hub members to provide convenient and secure storage of such discs.

A golf club having a configuration adapted to ensure that the gloved, weak hand of the golfer, grasps the club shaft and particularly the gripping area thereof with a sufficient force to adequately secure the club and thus play the game despite the presence of a handicap, including a handicap comprising the total inability to exert any force in a gripping manner. Furthermore, the present invention provides a golf glove configuration which is designed to provide a powerful grasp of the club shaft with the gloved hand for preventing any twisting of the glove upon impact with the ball, despite the presence of large torquing forces resulting from such impact. The invention is essentially identical in shape to all existing golf gloves, but comprises a Velcro hooked strap which is much longer than the conventional Velcro hook strap found in ordinary golf gloves. Furthermore, the golf glove provides surfaces of Velcro loops on the knuckle side of the small finger and of the ring finger, which loops are designed to engage the elongated hook strap in a configuration during grasping. Such engagement locks the weak hand of the golfer around the gripping portion of the golf club shaft in a highly forceful manner which may exceed the inherent capability of the hand musculature.

A CD storage case made of polypropylene injection molded plastic in a foldable configuration, which when fully assembled, is generally a flat, square box. The box comprises six sides comprising bottom and top panels, two side panels, a front panel and a rear hinge panel, the latter being provided with a pair of living hinges to permit the folding and unfolding of the box. The top and bottom panel are provided with hubs, each adapted for receiving a compact disc, whereby when fully closed, the CD storage case houses two compact discs in opposed spaced parallel relation, each firmly secured on its own respective hub. Each top and bottom panel provides a support segment which consists of a short, curved wall positioned along the interior surface of each panel, a distance from the center of the hub slightly greater than the radius of the disc. Each such panel provides four such support segments spaced symmetrically around the hub and which cooperate with the top surface of the hub to provide a support for documentation. The present invention provides storage for up to two compact discs and associated documentation in a manner which prevents any surface contact between the discs or between the documentation and the discs.

The invention provides a vacuum formed cassette album having front and rear covers connected by a spine. The covers and spine are formed from a stiff, self-supporting thermoformed tray sheet extending the height and breadth of both the front and rear covers and across the spine area. A soft cover sheet, formed for example from supple plastic, is sealed to the tray sheet along its edges. A pair of parallel, vertically disposed, laterally spaced apart vacuum formed channel-form hinges are provided in the tray sheet at the edges of the spine and extending to the top and bottom edges of the tray sheet to define fold lines between the spine and the covers. The channel-form hinges are substantially uncompressed and are of uniform thickness throughout. Between the channels in the spine area is an elevated rectangular plateau defining a box-like frame to help keep the spine flat. One cover has tabs that extend into recesses within the other cover.

The invention provides a vacuum formed cassette album having front and rear covers connected by a spine. The covers and spine are formed from a stiff, self-supporting thermoformed tray sheet extending the height and breadth of both the front and rear covers and across the spine area. A soft cover sheet, formed for example from supple plastic, is sealed to the tray sheet along its edges. At least a pair of parallel, vertically disposed, laterally spaced apart vacuum formed channels are provided in the tray sheet at the edges of the spine and extending to the top and bottom edges of the tray sheet to define fold lines between the spine and the covers. The channel-form hinges are substantially uncompressed. They are of uniform thickness throughout and of the same thickness as the surrounding material of the tray sheet so that when the album is closed the soft cover stock is drawn onto the hinges to provide a smooth contour around the outside edge of the adjacent channel-form hinges which are covered and enclosed by the smoothly contoured cover stock material to present a neat, tailored appearance.

A display album is described which is composed of an inner tray sheet vacuum formed to provide an upper and lower tray inside the front and back cover of the album respectively to receive a cassette, the trays comprising cooperating interconnecting tray walls along the top and bottom edges of the album and along the outside free edge of the album but having an open center in a spine region between the trays so that the contents of the album can be clearly seen through a spine formed from transparent material that extends between front and rear covers of the album. An outer flexible transparent plastic sheet is bonded to at least three edges of the tray sheet to form the outer surface of the album. If desired, printed display sheets can be inserted between the inner and outer sheets from which the album is formed.

The specification discloses an album type package (10) for holding a magnetic tape cassettes, and particularly either of two different predetermined sizes of video cassettes (28). The package (10) includes covers (12, 14) hinged to opposite sides of a spine (16), on which is mounted a rectangular boot or tray (26) for receiving a cassette in edgewise relationship therein. A lug (36) on the back cover (14) positively retains the cassette in the tray (26) when the cover is releasably secured by a lock (30) to the tray and the package (10) is partially closed. Means (44) are provided for properly locating a second, relatively smaller cassette for engagement with the lug (36). Another lock (38) releasably secures the covers (12, 14) in fully closed position.
