A diamagnetic levitation system having an open torus magnet segment with a pair of arms extending from a central base. The ends of the arms form a gap. The arms are superconducting magnets and the base is an electromagnet. The magnet segment creates a planar magnetic field which forms a flat ellipse as the planar magnetic field crosses from one arm to the other and which is positioned only across the gap. The electromagnet oscillates the planar magnetic field. The magnet segment levitates a diamagnetic object within and/or above the gap. A plurality of magnet segments can be arranged in series to form a levitation system of defined length. The magnet segments are rotatable so that the planar magnetic field may be tilted.

Diamagnetic levitation system for medical use

A diamagnetic levitation system for levitating users to a levitation surface upon which they may engage in sports and other activities under relatively weightless conditions in a dome-shaped structure. Superconducting magnet segments are connected in series to form a superconducting magnet segment assembly. A plurality of these superconducting magnet segment assemblies form the diamagnetic levitation system. The diamagnetic levitation system not only generates the levitation surface to which players or other users are levitated but also confines them within the boundaries of the levitation surface. The magnetic field strength of the diamagnetic levitation system is self-terminating so that spectators viewing the players are not affected by the levitating magnetic field.

Diamagnetic levitation system for sport field use in a stadium

A diamagnetic levitation sphere having concentric superconducting coils encircling a hollow sphere. The inner surface of the sphere is lined with a 3D visual display screen. Users in carbon fiber suits are positioned within the hollow sphere by entering the sphere at its bottom end, standing on an elevator platform, and then being elevated up towards the center of the sphere. The superconducting coils are energized, the users are levitated while on the elevator platform, and then the elevator platform is lowered to the bottom of the sphere, closing the sphere. The users then float freely in space and can participate in a full emersion space ride game. The diamagnetic levitation sphere can also provide users unique experiences in physical training, therapy, entertainment, and education.
