Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a temperature device including a flexible substrate, and an electrical circuit on a surface of the flexible substrate, the electrical circuit including a heater element having an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter, the inner perimeter surrounding a zone of the surface, the zone is thermally distinct from the heater element, wherein the heater element has a first dimension defining the outer perimeter and a second dimension defining the inner perimeter, wherein a ratio of the first dimension to a second dimension is no greater than 2.1:1, a first thermal sensor disposed in the zone, a second thermal sensor disposed outside of the heater element, a plurality of electrical pads disposed outside of the heater element, and a plurality of conductive traces connecting the first and second thermal sensors and the heater element with the plurality of electrical pads.

Core body temperature device and system

An air hose includes a corrugated flexible hose. The air hose also includes a first hose end section mechanically coupled to the corrugated flexible hose. The first hose end section includes a pressure sensor communicatively coupled to a warming unit. The first hose end section is configured to releasably couple to a pneumatic convective device. The air hose also includes a second hose end section mechanically coupled to the corrugated flexible hose. The second hose end section is configured to couple to the warming unit.

A zero-heat-flux, deep tissue temperature measurement system measures internal body temperature by way of a probe having a heater and thermal sensors arranged in a zero-heat-flux construction. The measurement system includes control mechanization that determines heater and skin temperatures based upon data obtained from the probe and uses those temperatures to calculate a deep tissue temperature. The measurement system includes a signal interface cable having a connector where a probe can be releasably connected to the system. The cable and attached connector are a removable and replaceable part of the system, separate from the probe. The measurement system provides an output signal imitating a standard input signal configuration used by other equipment.

Zero-heat-flux, deep tissue temperature measurement system

An interface device for facilitating transfer of medical information between a patient implantable medical device (PIMD) and a remote network server via public network infrastructure is disclosed, the interface device using any of a plurality of generic network access devices having disparate communication protocols. First communication circuitry is configured to receive medical information from a patient implantable medical device (PIMD), and second communication circuitry configured to effect communication with the first communication circuitry and a generic network access device. A processor is coupled the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry. The processor is configured to control transmission of the medical information to the generic network access device and condition the medical device data in compliance with a predetermined medical information regulatory standard governing the PIMD. A method is also disclosed.

This document discusses, among other things, a system and method for wirelessly transferring information electromagnetically at a first specified operating frequency range and at a second specified operating frequency range using an implantable antenna. In certain examples, the implantable antenna can include a first non-coiled segment and a first coiled segment, and the first specified operating frequency range and the second specified operating frequency range can be provided at least in part by a physical arrangement of the first coiled segment with respect to the first non-coiled segment.

Various embodiments concern a method which may include communicating medical information between a PIMD and an interface module via a first channel in compliance with a predetermined medical information regulatory standard, preventing access to the PIMD via the interface module other than through the first channel, detecting a communication protocol used by an available generic network access device, selecting a communication protocol rule set from a plurality of communication protocol rule sets to effect communication between the interface device and an available generic network access device of a plurality of generic network access devices, and transferring at least some of the medical information to the remote network via a second channel established between the interface module and the available generic network access device using the selected communication protocol rule set.
