There is provided a cosmetic or topical composition for use on the human body having a phosphate compound in an amount effective to inhibit corrosion of metallic containers containing the composition. Preferably, such a cosmetic or topical composition has sodium hydrogen phosphates and/or sodium polyphosphates in an amount about 0.05 wt % to about 1.5 wt % based on the total weight of the finished composition.

A method for inhibiting loss of gel strength in an acidic aqueous based solid antiperspirant composition gelled with one or more polysaccharides comprising adding to said composition an effective amount of a gel degradation inhibitor and an acidic aqueous based solid antiperspirant composition containing at least one phase gelled with one or more polysaccharide gelling agents, wherein the improvement comprises including in the polysaccharide gelled phase at least one gel degradation inhibitor.

Stabilized aqueous acidic antiperspirant compositions and related methods

A clear stick composition is disclosed that includes a solvent, a gelling agent, a plasticizing/solubilizing agent and a clarity/stability agent. The clarity/stability enhancing agent is preferably polyoxypropylene (10) butanediol (PPG-10 butanediol).

A stable, water-thin emulsion is formed by processing a crude emulsion through a high pressure homogenizer at a pressure of about 900 to about 1100 bar. This emulsion contains low levels of emulsifier and contains no post addition stabilizers.

A clear deodorant stick composition is disclosed that includes a solvent, a gelling agent, an odor-controlling agent selected from the group consisting of a germicidal agent, a deodorizing agent, a masking agent and a combination thereof, and a plasticizing/solubilizing agent selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene 2-decyltetradecyl ether, ethoxylated dimethicone copolyol, and combinations thereof.

Clear stick deodorant

A two-phase liquid cosmetic composition is provided comprising an oil phase, an organic liquid/water phase, and insoluble solid particles absorbed on the interface between the two phases wherein the solid particles comprise the in situ precipitation product of at least first and second salt solutions added to the oil phase and organic liquid/water phase during blending thereof. The insoluble salt precipitates facilitate dispersion of the oil phase in the form of 'spheres' or 'droplets' within the organic liquid/water phase thereby producing a liquid cosmetic having an aesthetically desirable appearance.
