A stable flowable aqueous composition comprising at least two component surfactants, each component surfactant having a maximum solubility in water at which a saturated solution forms, wherein the total concentration of all surfactants present in the composition is greater than would be obtained by combining equivalent amounts of saturated solutions of the component surfactants; wherein at least one component surfactant includes a compound of formula (I): wherein Rrepresents a Calkyl group; each of R, R, Rand Rindependently represents a hydrogen atom or a Calkyl group and wherein at least one of R, R, Rand Ris not hydrogen and Mrepresents a cation.

Personal care composition and method of preparation thereof

An aqueous shear-thinning personal care composition comprises: (a) at least 3 wt % of a sulfonate compound of general formula (I): where Rrepresents a Calkyl group alkyl group; Rrepresents a Calkyl group; each of R, Rand Rindependently represents a hydrogen atom or a Calkyl group; and Mrepresents a sodium or potassium cation; (b) at least 3 wt % of an amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactant; (c) at least 10 wt % of water; and (d) at least 0.5 wt % of an additional component in the form of particles or droplets suspended in the composition. The composition is stable in an aqueous environment and can be formulated with a wide range of additional components.

Personal care composition

Composition A low irritancy cleansing composition comprises: (a) an anionic surfactant compound of formula (I): wherein Rrepresents a Csubstituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; each of R, R, Rand Rindependently represents a hydrogen atom or a Calkyl group and wherein at least one of R, R, Rand Ris not hydrogen and M+ represents a cation; (b) an amphoteric surfactant; and (c) an alkoxylated non-ionic species; wherein the molar ratio of component (a) to component (b) is from 0.5:1 to 2:1 and wherein the ratio of the mass of component (c) to the combined mass of components (a) and (b) is less than 1.2:1. 

Low irritancy cleansing compositions

A low irritancy cleansing composition comprises: (a) an anionic surfactant compound of formula (I): wherein Rrepresents a Csubstituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; each of R, R, Rand Rindependently represents a hydrogen atom or a Calkyl group and wherein at least one of R, R, Rand Ris not hydrogen and Mrepresents a cation; and (b) an amphoteric surfactant; wherein the molar ratio of component (a) to component (b) is from 0.25:1 to 4:1 and wherein the composition comprises less than 3 wt % polyethoxylated non-ionic species.
