A nonpneumatic tire has at least one spoke loop structure connected to a shear band, wherein the spoke loop structure has a plurality of loops extending inward from the shear band, and wherein each loop is connected to a wheel. A method for forming the nonpneumatic tire includes the step of forming a base and loop subassembly by providing a base having a plurality of grooves, inserting a layer of elastomer strip into each groove and forming a loop between each of the grooves; and inserting the base and loop subassembly which has a plurality of flexible loops extending inward from a shearband so that the base is positioned adjacent the shear band; curing the base and loop subassembly formed from a strip of elastomeric material into the shearband; providing a wheel, and then connecting each loop to the wheel.

Non-pneumatic tire with a flexible looped spoke and method of forming

A structurally supported tire includes a ground contacting annular tread portion, an annular shear band and at least one spoke disk connected to the shear band, wherein the spoke disk has at least two spokes, wherein each spoke extends between an outer ring and an inner ring, wherein one of the spokes extends from the outer ring to the inner ring in a curved manner. The second spoke extends from the outer ring to the inner ring in a straight manner.

Non-pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire is described having a triangular shaped apex which extends radially outward of the bead core, and wherein the apex is formed of at least two zones. Each zone is formed of a different material, wherein the first zone extends from the base of the apex to the tip of the apex, and the second zone is located adjacent the ply. The zones are preferably formed by extrusion to form one cohesive apex. The first zone is formed of a material having a G&#x2033;/G' ratio in the range of about 0.155 to about 0.183. The second zone is formed of a material having a G&#x2033;/G&#x2032; ratio in the range of about 0.125 to about 0.133.
