A medicament delivery device () comprises an actuation mechanism by successive operation of which a predetermined number of unit doses of medicament can be dispensed. The device includes a locking mechanism for preventing further operation of the actuation mechanism after dispensing of said predetermined number of unit doses. The locking mechanism comprises a resilient member (), a formation () with which the resilient member () is engageable to disable operation of the actuation mechanism, and a barrier member () that prevents engagement of the resilient member () and the formation () until said predetermined number of unit doses has been dispensed. The device () may be a dry powder inhaler.

Medicament delivery devices

A dry powder inhaler () is disclosed comprising first and second medicament reservoirs () and respective rotatable first and second metering members (), which are urged into sealing engagement with the respective medicament reservoir () by a compression spring () located between the metering members (). The inhaler () includes an actuator by which the first and second metering members () are rotated in unison from a metering position to a dispensing position. The actuator acts upon the first and second metering members () via a wheel () mounted between the first and second metering members (). The first and second metering members () are provided with sockets () that receive the respective ends of the compression spring (). The sockets () have extensions () that project into an axial bushing () of the wheel (), the bushing () being provided on its internal surface with formations () that engage the extensions () to cause the metering members () to rotate when the wheel () is rotated.

Dry powder inhalers

A dry powder inhaler comprises at least one medicament reservoir and a closure member engaged with the reservoir so as to close an opening therein. A surface of the reservoir adjacent the opening and a surface of the closure member are in abutment, either directly or via a seal member interposed between the reservoir and the closure member. At least one abutting surface is formed with a projection that increases the contact pressure between said surfaces, thereby improving the seal between them and reducing the potential for ingress of moisture between said surfaces into the reservoir.

Dry powder inhaler

A dose counter mechanism is suitable for use with a medicament delivery device. The dose counter mechanism comprises a rollable tape () provided with indicia (), a tape housing () and a tape collector spool (). The tape housing comprises a tape dispenser housing () within which, in use, a roll () of the tape is inserted and a tape collector spool housing () within which, in use, the tape collector spool is mounted. The tape dispenser housing and the tape collector spool housing are connected by a tape display area ().
