System and methods for non-contact video-based patient monitoring are described. The systems and methods may include locating one or more condensation removal elements on a transparent enclosure for removal of condensation that may be obstructing the view between a video camera used to monitor a patient and the patient. The systems and methods may further include steps for monitoring the quality of the video stream and automatically initiating the condensation removal elements when a deterioration in the quality of the video stream is detected.

Methods and systems for non-contact monitoring of a patient to determine respiratory parameters such as respiration rate, tidal volume, minute volume, oxygen saturation, and other parameters such as motion or activity. The systems and methods receive a first, video signal from the patient and from that extract a distance or depth signal from the relevant area to calculate the parameter(s) from the depth signal. The systems and methods also receive a second, light intensity signal from an IR feature projected onto the patient, and from that calculate the parameter(s) from the light intensity signal. An activity weight factor is calculated from the activity signal, and a vital sign signal is calculated from the physiological signal. A mapping from the activity signal to the vital sign aids the determination of the vital sign through a motion period. The augmented vital sign is a result of the combination of first and second values, including the product of the activity weight factor and an activity derived vital sign, and the product of the vital sign signal and the activity weight factor less than one.

An example system includes a thermal camera, a memory, and processing circuitry coupled to the thermal camera and the memory. The processing circuitry is configured to acquire a core temperature of a patient and acquire a first thermal image associated with the patient. The processing circuitry is configured to determine a core temperature delta between the core temperature and the first sensed temperature. In some examples, a system includes an oxygen saturation sensing device configured to sense an oxygen saturation level of a patient and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry may be configured to receive a signal indicative of the oxygen saturation level of the patient, determine that the signal indicates the oxygen saturation level is at or below a desaturation threshold, and in response to determining the oxygen saturation level of the patient is at or below the desaturation threshold, predict, using an oxygen saturation prediction model, whether the oxygen saturation level of the patient will increase above the desaturation threshold by the end of a predefined time period. In response to predicting that the oxygen saturation level of the patient will increase above the desaturation threshold by the end of the predefined time period, the processing circuitry refrains from outputting an indication of the patient experiencing an oxygen desaturation event.
