Techniques are described relating to the identification of location of content within an electronic document. Techniques may include generating a location identification rule specifying one or more parameters for identifying a location identifier (LID) for each of the one or more streams associated with the content of the electronic document. Further, the LID may be generated in accordance with the location identification rule. The LID may be assigned to at least a portion of the content, such that the portion of the content within the electronic document may be located in accordance with the LID.

System and method for identifying location of content within an electronic document

Systems, methods, and software applications for managing slide presentation content are described in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, among many, a computer readable medium is configured to store instructions that are executable by a processing device. The computer readable medium comprises logic adapted to enable a user to enter one or more search terms via a graphical user interface, the one or more search terms being used to initiate a text search of individual slides disassembled from one or more slide presentations and stored in an external database. Additional logic is adapted to display results of the text search on the graphical user interface, which displays a visual representation of a plurality of the individual slides resulting from the text search. The computer readable medium also includes logic adapted to enable a user to select one or more of the individual slides displayed on the graphical user interface.

Managing the content of shared slide presentations

Approaches for enabling a computerized entity to recognize characters in an electronic document. In a persistent data store, character identification data is stored. Character identification data is data that, for one or more characters of one or more fonts, associates (a) glyph data for a character with (b) code point data for the character, where the glyph data describes how to render the character on or to an output device, and the code point data identifies, to the computerized entity, the identity of the character. Upon determining that an embedded font document, such as a PDF document, does not include a set of code point data for a particular character, the character identification data is consulted to determine the identity of the particular character. In this way, a machine can recognize characters in the embedded font document and perform functions such as indexing or searching on the embedded font document.

Character identification through glyph data matching

Systems, methods, and software applications for managing slide presentation content are described in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, among many, a computer readable medium is configured to store instructions that are executable by a processing device. The computer readable medium comprises logic adapted to disassemble a plurality of slide presentations into a plurality of individual files, wherein each individual file corresponds to a single slide of a respective slide presentation. The computer readable medium also includes logic adapted to extract information from each slide and logic adapted to compare the extracted information from each slide and consolidate groups of slides that are substantially similar.
