A mixture in-oil antifoam composition comprising a mixture of a defoaming agent comprising a defoamer in an oil carrier, a non-ionic surfactant having an HLB number less than about 10, and water. In particular, the defoamer is particulate hydrophobic silica dispersed in oil and the non-ionic surfactant has an HLB number of between 2 to 8.

The spread of printing paste when applied to textiles is inhibited by the inclusion of an 'anti-wick agent' in the print paste. The 'anti-wick agent' comprises a copolymer resulting from the polymerization of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, maleic acid and maleic anhydride with at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylate esters and N-substituted acrylamides.

A caliper type disc brake has friction lining carriers which are retained by thrust plates. Each thrust plate is secured to the caliper housing by a pivot bolt and at least one cap screw. When the cap screw or screws of a thrust plate are removed, that thrust plate can be rotated about its associated pivot bolt, thereby permitting removal and replacement of its associated friction lining carrier or carriers without complete disconnection of the thrust plate from the caliper. The thrust plate can then be rotated back into position and resecured by cap screw or screws.

Thrust plate for caliper-type disc brakes

A caliper brake having a brake disc rotatable about an axis with a friction lining carrier mounted for sliding movement axially of the brake disc on a supporting caliper housing. The lining carrier has two circumferentially spaced ends with an opening at one end for receiving a torque pin mounted on the caliper housing for axial sliding movement of the carrier on the pin. A slot is provided at the other end for receiving a retention pin which is mounted on the caliper housing for axial sliding movement of the carrier on the retention pin. The retention pin is positioned in the slot with sufficient clearance to accommodate movement in the circumferential direction due to expansion and contraction of the carrier during braking. The clearance between the torque pin and the opening in the lining carrier is only sufficient to prevent binding of the carrier on the torque pin and therefore limits the movement of the lining carrier in a circumferential direction while providing a sliding connection for axial movement of the carrier into and out of braking engagement with the brake disc.
