Audio/speech-based and text-based interactions between a transaction terminal and a user conducting a transaction are provided. In an embodiment, the terminal may establish a direct wireless connection to a user-operated device or an indirection wireless connection to the user-operated device through a proxy device. In an embodiment, the wireless connection is automatically established through a different out-of-band wireless communication between the terminal and the user-operated device. In an embodiment, text-based data for the transaction are provided over a second simultaneous wireless connection that is different from the wireless connection associated with providing the audio/speech data. In an embodiment, audio/speech data provided from the user during the transaction are enhanced for security and are filtered for accuracy using audio-based processing and/or image-based processing. In an embodiment, a speech-to-text and text-to-speech interface for a transaction at the terminal is provided.

An initial multi-digit contact (multi-touch) is detected on a surface of a touchscreen display during initiation of a key entry session on a transaction terminal. A reference row for a logically maintained keypad is set for the key entry session based on the multi-touch. Active rows for the key entry session are changed by swipes up or down. A given key within an active row is selected based on pressure applied by or removed from one of the digits relative to other digits in the multi-touch or based on one of the digits swiped up or down while other digits remain stationary. The key entry session terminates when the multi-digit contact is lifted off the surface without further touching for a preconfigured period of elapsed time. In an embodiment, the session terminates when a multi-touch swipe to the left and then the right is detected (or right and then left).

Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for conference audio manipulation for inclusion and accessibility. One embodiment, in the form of a method that may be performed, for example, on a server or a participant computing device. This method includes receiving a voice signal via a network and modifying an audible characteristic of the voice signal that is perceptible when the voice signal is audibly output. The method further includes outputting the voice signal including the modified audible characteristic.

Conferencing audio manipulation for inclusion and accessibility

A multi-pixel display panel can display an image that includes an informational element. A multi-element backlight panel can backlight the display panel. A controller coupled to the display panel and the backlight panel can control the backlight panel to illuminate the informational element more brightly or more dimly than portions of the image away from the informational element. In some examples, the controller can illuminate personal information more dimly than portions of the image away from the personal information, which can provide privacy for a user. In some examples, the controller can illuminate a prompt for a user action more brightly than portions of the image away from the prompt, which can call attention of the user to the prompt. In some examples, the controller can adjust an illumination level of at least a portion of the backlight panel in response to a sensed ambient light level.

Disclosed are systems and methods for completing a transaction using a shelf and interactive tablet. The systems and methods may include receiving, at an interactive tablet comprising a processor, a captured image associated with an item; identifying, by the interactive tablet, a known image of the item based on the captured image of the item; and retrieving, by the interactive tablet, product information associated with the item based on the known image of the item.

Various embodiments herein include a pocket to receive tendered notes and to dispense notes from a terminal, such as an automated teller machine. The pocket may include a shutter, a lifter opposite the shutter, a pusher plate between and perpendicular to the shutter and lifter, and a ceiling clamp. The pocket also includes a controller causes the terminal to perform actions when dispensing notes including moving the ceiling clamp to an open position and providing an output triggering dispensing of notes into the pocket. The actions further include moving the ceiling clamp to a closed position, moving the pusher plate to bias notes present within the pocket against the ceiling clamp and raising the lifter from a lower position to an upper position thereby lifting notes present between the pusher plate and the ceiling clamp. The shutter is then opened to expose and dispense the notes.

To overcome the difficulties caused by variation in user interfaces from self-service terminal to self-service terminal, a self-service terminal can use a standardized interface device that is compatible with other terminal types and other regions. The interface device can be positioned on a housing and electrically coupled to the housing via a secure physical connection. Media readers can be integrated into the interface device. An encrypted touch-sensitive display can be integrated into the interface device and positioned on a front of the interface device. The touch-sensitive display can show prompts to initiate a transaction at the self-service terminal. The prompts can provide instructions for causing physical media to be read at any one of the media readers to produce identification data. A processor positioned in the housing can receive the identification data from the interface device via the secure physical connection.

A kiosk for sale or rental of secure USB flash drives employing digital rights management to implement secure digital media storage such as that provided by encrypted storage utilizing content protection for recordable media (CPRM) or the like. Preferably, the form factor of the secure USB flash drives is that of a standard USB flash drive, and a standard USB connector is employed therein making the devices and their use familiar and comfortable to the average consumer. Further, the kiosk may employ an array of USB ports and support writing of content from one drive to another to advantageously adjust inventory to respond to demand. Light, simple kiosks may be designed.
