An improved cargo tracking device which includes a main housing unit which can be secured to a roof or wall of a given cargo container using securing wings. The main housing of the tracking device of the present invention may preferably include a patch antenna and a front face/surface which extends out from the main horizontal plane of the tracking device and which includes an opening for the insertion/attachment of a solar panel array. According to further preferred embodiments, the solar panel of the present invention may preferably be electrically connected to the main circuit board via one or more electronic chokes which are preferably tuned to remove selected RF frequencies transmitted/received by the patch antenna.

The present invention provides a cargo imaging device which allows for asset IR illumination and monitoring of the interior of a closed cargo container. According to a first preferred embodiment, the imaging device of the present invention includes a housing which encloses a central lens. The central lens is preferably located between an upper IR light guide and a lower IR light guide. Preferably, the central lens may be formed as a fish-eye lens. Still further, the imaging device of the present invention may preferably further include a BLE transmitter and antenna arrangement which may include an inverted-F BLE antenna and a BLE booster ring surrounding the lens to assist the inverted-F BLE antenna to transmit and receive signals between the cargo interior and the BLE antenna.

The present invention provides a system and method which allow for the rapid and reliable identification of towed trailers parked together in loading areas. According to a first preferred embodiment, an exemplary method of the present includes: monitoring hook-up criteria indicating that the first truck is maneuvering to hook-up with the first trailer; scanning for one or more transmitting devices when hook-up event criteria are met; determining which transmitting devices are sufficiently close to require an angle calculation based on RSSI levels; performing an Angle of Departure/Angle of Arrival calculation for each of the selected signals; determining which of the closest identified trailers have an Angle of Departure/Angle of Arrival which falls within a pre-set threshold; identifying a hook-up trailer based on detecting the Angle of Arrival/Angle of Departure and the compared RSSI levels; pairing the hook-up trailer ID device with a tractor ID device of the first truck; and transmitting paired ID information linking the hook-up trailer ID and the tractor ID device.

The present invention provides an antenna assembly which includes a capacitively coupled array of two or more inverted-L antennas. According to a preferred embodiment, the antenna assembly preferably may include: a receive resonator, a transmit resonator and a coupled bar which capacitively feeds the resonators. The present invention provides an antenna array which includes a structure in the form of a hexagonal pyramid with a flat top surface/facet. According to preferred aspects, the pedestal support of the present invention preferably further includes six side facets which are preferably disposed 60 degrees from each other. Preferably, each side facet preferably supports a patch antenna and the top facet supports a top/zenith antenna. According to a preferred embodiment, the azimuth antennas may be offset from the ground plane by an angle between 20 and 60 degrees. The present invention preferably includes a monitoring device which is able to monitor both signals from the cab and the contents of a trailer/container. A plurality of slots may be interposed intermittently spanning the top and middle conductive layers. The meandering may be integrated with the slots. The circularly polarized patch antenna may be realized as a multi-layer printed circuit board.
