The invention relates to an apparatus for processing food wherein food items are conveyed through processing stations where they are cut into pieces and optionally mixed with items originating differently. In particular, the invention relates to a system wherein information related to each food item and the positions of the food items throughout the processing are traced so that the origination of a food item is preserved.

Method and a system for tracking food items

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for batching items () of non-uniform weight into batches fulfilling certain weight criteria. The items () are conveyed across a scale () registering the weight of each item individually, and subsequently, the items () are combined into batches. In particular, the invention relates to a method of analyzing process deviations in a batching process, e.g. to detect faults in a batching system or in order to improve a batching process flow. One sophisticated application of the invention is to include a simulation of the batching process to accurately predict the results for the pack-sizes on demand and recommend the optimal ones to the operator.

Simulation of conditions in a batching process

A method and apparatus are disclosed for automatically batching objects into portions, comprising conveying and weighing objects. An appropriate bin for each of the weighed objects is selected, wherein each bin is provided with a weighing means. Accordingly, the total portion weight is periodically registered. By means of comparing the potion weight with the summed object weight in that portions, an appropriate bin can be selected for forthcoming objects.

Batching with feedback correction

The present invention relates to integrated processing and information handling method for poultry items. As the poultry items are conveyed they are assigned to a processing station where they are processed and thereafter assigned to a predetermined collecting bins, which is connected to a computer system. The information related to the number, the weight and the quality of poultry segments are registered and also the processing time. This information is important not only for the operators but also for the control and management where the status of each processing line can be monitored and refined.

Process and an application for item processing

The present invention relates to a process and an application for handling information in relation to meat being conveyed through a number of processing stations. The information is used to trace the processing history of a piece of meat, including its origination. The ability to trace the processing history may be used e.g. in order to trace back sources of contamination and for verification of the status and quality, weight etc. of the meat. The information is furthermore useful for the workers processing the meat at the stations or useful for the control and management of the meat processing plant.

Integrated meat processing and information handling method

An apparatus and method to measure, monitor control the coating of objects in a processing line including a camera to receive an image of the profile of the object before being coated, a second camera to receive an image of the profile of the object after being coated, and a means and method to compare the two images to determine the increase in volume of the object due to the coating. The comparing means is a microcomputer which calculates the increase in volume based on the two images, the speed of the object travelling along the processing line, and a form factor. The microprocessor compares the increase in volume of one object to the increase in volume of a second object to monitor and ensure a consistent coating thickness.
