The present invention relates to a method and a system for controlling a processing load in a packet data network, wherein a load control information is set in a predetermined field of a message. The load control information is then checked on the routing path of the message and a processing resource of the packet data network is selected in response to the result of checking step. Thereby, load balancing information can be provided at the network to thereby provide an efficient balancing and load sharing function without heavy string comparisons and data base queries.

The invention provides a method and system for handling a session setup procedure initiated by an user equipment for establishing a session of a specific type to a called entity, wherein a session setup request sent to a network entity for establishing the requested session, includes location information and an identifier for identifying the called entity. In telecommunications networks the problem with call forwarding restriction according to prior art is that access through call forwarding to numbers with ensuring an answer rather than possible further forwarding is not possible. The invention is based on the idea that call forwarding is allowed despite call forwarding restriction when the number to be used in forwarding the call meets special conditions set beforehand. The number is thus compared with the preset conditions and depending on the result of this comparison the call is either forwarded or not.
