Radio network node, user equipment and methods performed therein

A method, system and network node are disclosed. A network node for communication with a wireless device that is configured for uplink transmission on a first carrier using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and on a second carrier using a second RAT is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to determine whether to schedule the wireless device for uplink and whether to schedule the wireless device for uplink and downlink communications, in a transmission time interval (TTI) according to the first RAT based at least in part on an intermodulation distortion quantity associated with uplink communications according to both the first RAT and the second RAT, and optionally schedule the wireless device according to the determination.

Inter-modulation avoidance for transmission on different frequencies

Mechanisms are provided for uplink power control of a terminal device. A method is performed in a network serving the terminal device. The method comprises estimating average total uplink transmit power for the terminal device. The method comprises determining a dynamic power threshold from the average total uplink transmit power according to a back-off power control loop. In the back-off power control loop, a setpoint value of total average transmission power is compared with a value of the estimated average total uplink transmit power. The method comprises setting a value of a power regulating parameter as function of the dynamic power threshold. The method comprises providing the value of the power regulating parameter to the terminal device for uplink power control of the terminal device.

Uplink power control of a terminal device

The present invention relates to cellular mobile radio systems, and more especially it relates to Code Division Multiple Access, CDMA, cellular mobile radio systems, particularly to transmission power control in such systems. A method and apparatus transmitting TPC bits with inherent out-of-sync information and transmission power differential determined on the basis of soft handover status information and out-of-sync status information is disclosed. An associated method and apparatus receiving the TPC bits and controlling transmission power accordingly is presented.

Method and system of transmission power control

A method and apparatus for minimizing interference in a wireless communication system. A base transceiver station transmits and receives over a first frequency band and a second frequency band. The maximum range of the first frequency band can be smaller than the maximum range of the second frequency band. Alternatively, the maximum range of the first frequency band can be larger than the maximum range of the second frequency band. Further, the maximum range of the second frequency band can vary based upon factors such as the capacity of the first frequency band and the amount of interference on the first frequency band. A control channel for the second frequency band which is measured for determining whether to handoff from the first frequency band to the second frequency band can be transmitted within the first frequency band.

Hot spot with tailored range for extra frequency to minimize interference

Systems and methods for estimating inter-frequency measurements used for radio network functions are disclosed. The systems and methods described allow systems to evaluate the quality of a second frequency by using offset adjusted measurements on a first frequency. By using the described methods, system capacity is increased by providing a &ldquo;low cost&rdquo; measurement mechanism for support of handover that substantially balance the load between two or more frequency bands. By using the proposed method, handover can be performed more frequently and the interference within each frequency band can therefore be kept at a more optimal level.

System and method for estimating interfrequency measurements used for radio network function

A method and system for controlling handoffs in radiocommunication systems using a softzone concept are described. Soft handoff is permitted between members of a particular softzone, but not between members of different softzones. Hard handoff is permitted between members of different softzones, but not between members of the same softzone.
