The invention provides a lighting system comprising one or more solid state light sources, wherein the lighting system is configured to provide lighting system light having a correlated color temperature of at least 1700 K and having a S* value of at least 33 in a first setting of the lighting system, wherein the S* value is defined as S*=100*(2*A*+B*)/Wwith A* being the spectral power in the wavelength range of 380-440 nm, B* being the spectral power in the wavelength range of 660-780 nm, and Wbeing the total spectral power in the wavelength range of 380-780 nm of the lighting system light.

The present invention relates to assisting a user in selecting a lighting device design by providing a lighting device design based on a model or image of a lighting device design (e.g. the user uploading an image of an existing lighting device in his/her home). The lighting device design of the model or image is analyzed in order to determine a lighting device design related variable (e.g. type, shape or color of lighting device design). This variable is then used to select a lighting device design from a set of lighting device designs (e.g. to select a lighting device design of the same color, from an electronic catalogue of lighting device designs); or to generate a lighting device design (e.g. to generate a lighting device design that is a copy of the lighting device design in the image, only smaller and in a different color). The invention further includes a system and computer program product for implementation of this method.

Assisting a user in selecting a lighting device design

The present invention relates to suggesting a lighting device () design to a user, such as in an advertisement for a lighting device design. The suggestion is based on acquiring user interest information relating to the user from a data source such as an online user profile. A lighting device () design related variable (e.g. intensity, colour temperature) is determined based on the acquired user interest information using, for example, a lookup table or rules. A lighting device () design is then provided (e.g. selected or generated) based on the lighting device design related variable and an image () of the provided lighting device () design is displayed.

The present invention relates to assisting a user in selecting a lighting device () design through receiving an image of a scene, e.g. the user taking a picture using his/her smartphone of his/her living room () and analyzing this image in order to select or generate a lighting device () design. The analysis can comprise determining the presence of a pattern, material or color in the scene and a lighting device () design can be selected (e.g. from an electronic catalog) that comprises a similar pattern, material or color. As another example, a lighting device () design can be generated to match such a pattern, material or color. The invention further comprises a system and computer program product for implementation of this method.

A lighting system comprises a light source having an exit window and an electrically controllable light processing arrangement, in the form of a grid of cells lying in a plane parallel to the exit window. Each cell has a cell wall formed as electrically switchable element which is switchable between at least two processing modes. The cell wall surrounds an opening, such that light emitted in a normal direction from the light source exit window is not processed, and light passing at an angle to the normal direction greater than a threshold angle is processed by the cell wall for color and/or intensity control.

Lighting system

A lighting system uses an array of lighting elements which provide light in different directions. The intensity of the lighting elements is controlled in dependence on a time-varying parameter related to at least one of a position of a light emitting or light reflecting body, and an intensity, color or color temperature of the light emitted or reflected by the body, such that the system can simulate directional sunlight.

A lighting system has a recessed panel (light source or window) and a side wall or a set of side walls around the recess. The side wall (or at least one of the side walls), is provided with a lighting arrangement for controlling the color of illumination and/or shape from which light is emitted from the side wall or side walls.
