A surgical robot for performing minimally invasive surgery (e.g. in the eye) is provided. A cannula connection is positioned at a fixed surgical arm part and aligned with a movable surgical arm part movable with respect to the fixed surgical arm part. A surgical instrument can be mounted at the movable part. The surgical instrument can pass through the cannula connection. Reference arm(s) and manipulation arm(s) connect a base element with the fixed surgical arm part. The base element could have a surgical operating table attachment part to movably attach to a surgical operating table and rotating parts movably attached to the surgical operating table attachment part.

Surgical robot

The present invention provides a surgical robot for performing surgery of the minimally invasive type on a body to be operated upon, which surgical robot includes a number of surgical arms having respective distal ends, to each of which distal ends a surgical instrument is connected for performing surgical procedures inside a human or animal body, a base element, manipulation means for manipulating the surgical arms relative to the base element for performing the surgery, and control means for controlling the manipulation means. Positioning means are provided for positioning the base element above the body.

A structure such as an electronically deformable mirror contains a deformable membrane, an array of actuators located facing the membrane, each actuator being arranged to actuate local displacement of the membrane perpendicular to its surface. The actuators and the membrane are connected via an array of actuating connections. The actuating connections substantially transmit movement perpendicular to the second surface, but leave planar displacement and/or local rotation of the second surface substantially free. Preferably, the actuators contain an array of soft magnetic islands on a soft magnetic base plane, with actuator coils running around the islands and a system of sort magnetic walls on the base plane to separate the coils. The walls support a soft magnetic resilient surface that extend over of the islands and serve to drive the actuating connections. Preferably the base plane is supported on an array of rod shaped connection elements, leaving space to permit air to circulate between the support structures and the support plate.

Surface deformation actuation structure

The invention relates to an actuator comprising a leaf spring attached to a carrier in at least one point of attachment, means for providing a magnetic field and means for guiding the magnetic field so as to provide a magnetic flux loop. A movable part of the leaf spring is movable relative to the means for providing the magnetic field. The actuator further comprises a drive core attached to the movable part of the leaf spring, which is incorporated in the flux loop, for imparting the relative movement to the movable part. The drive core is so positioned that the magnetic properties of the flux loop are changed under the influence of said relative movement for gearing the magnetic force on the drive core and the spring force of the leaf spring to each other.

Actuator

A surface measuring apparatus for measuring a surface shape of an element includes a measurement frame having a mount for mounting the element to be measured, a stage including a rotatable device, the stage being movable in at least a first direction relative to the measurement frame, and a contactless distance measurement device for measuring in the first direction a distance between the measurement frame and a predetermined measurement surface provided on the rotatable device. The apparatus further comprises a second distance measurement device for measuring in a second direction a second distance between the device and a selected position on a surface of an element mounted relative to the measurement frame and a rotation measurement device for measuring an angle of rotation between the first and second direction. In this way, aspheric or free-form surfaces of optical elements can be measured easily in closed loop without introducing abbel-errors.
