A pull-out string for connection to a hearing aid which is constructed for use in an ear canal near a tympanic membrane. The pull out string has two ends and a fixing element at each end for connection to the hearing aid. The pull-out string has a plurality of beads, the distance from each bead to an end of the pull-out string being unique. In a method of manufacturing a hearing aid provided with such a pull-out string, the pull-out string is secured to the hearing aid at one end and is severed at a desired distance from the hearing aid such that the pull-out string has a bead at the resulting free end. This results in a hearing aid having a pull-out string whose length can be chosen from many possible values and whose free end can be gripped satisfactorily.

Hearing aid with pull-out-string, pull-out string, and method of making

An in-the-ear canal hearing aid comprises a microphone, an amplifier, an electromechanical transducer, for example in the form of a telephone, and an infrared detector. The hearing aid also includes an elongated extraction element for extracting the hearing aid from the ear canal. The extraction element is in the form of an optical conductor for conducting infrared radiation. One end of the optical conductor is mechanically attached to the hearing aid housing in a manner such that the end of the conductor is optically coupled to the infrared detector. As a result, the extraction element is a dual function device in which its second function is to conduct the infrared radiation to the infrared detector of the hearing aid.

Hearing aid intended for being mounted within the ear canal

The invention relates to an electro-optical device for optically scanning an information carrier, comprising a stationary frame, a movable optical holder, in which an objective having an optical axis is eccentrically mounted, a first electromagnetic actuator for translating the optical holder along a pivotal axis and a second electromagnetic actuator for pivoting the optical holder about this pivotal axis. Each of the actuators comprises a first actuator element secured to the frame and a second actuator element secured to the holder, the first and the second actuator elements cooperating with each other via air gaps. The optical holder is formed with a bore which extends parallel to the optical axis and in which the second actuator element of the second actutor is secured and in which the first actuator element which cooperate with said second actuator element extends with clearance. The second actuator element of the second actuator also functions as the balancing mass.

Device for optically scanning an information carrier

Apparatus for optically reading and/or recording information on a rotary record with the aid of a radiation beam, in particular a video player, in which a carriage which is movable to and fro underneath a deck and carries a focussing device with an objective, as well as a number of other optical elements belonging to a scanning device and, as the case may be, a radiation source for producing the radiation beam. In order to prevent dust and other air-borne contaminations from settling on the optical faces of the optical elements of the scanning unit, at least a number and preferably all optical elements are protected against dust by a dust cover. If required, a completely dust-proof enclosure of the optical elements and the part of the radiation source from which the radiation beam emerges may be employed, the electrical connections to the electrical equipment located inside the enclosure being made via dust-proof passages and furthermore the objective being guided in a dust-proof manner in a parallel guide system, while the dust cover adjoins the carriage and, if desired, the radiation source with the aid of dust-strips.
