A yarn-forming element is provided for a roving machine that produces a roving from a fiber structure using compressed air. The yarn-forming element includes an intake opening for fibers of the fiber structure, an outlet for emergence of the roving produced from the fiber structure, and a draw-off channel that connects the intake opening and the outlet. A front end surrounding the intake opening is formed as a first truncated cone in at least some sections thereof. The first truncated cone includes a larger base surface and a smaller opposite cover surface that is adjacent the draw-off channel. An angle (&#x3b1;) between a lateral line of the first truncated cone and an axis of the first truncated cone is less than 90&#xb0; and greater than 70&#xb0;.

Roving-forming element for a roving machine as well as a roving machine equipped therewith

A method for processing a strand-type fiber bundle includes sending the fiber bundle to an air nozzle of a pre-spinning machine used to produce roving. A twist is imparted to the fiber bundle via a vortex air current within the air nozzle to form the roving, wherein the roving leaves the air nozzle through an outlet and is deposited in a receptacle. Normal operation is interrupted in a stop phases during which roving is not produced by the air nozzle. A start-up phase is commenced between the stop phase and subsequent normal operation wherein the roving produced during the stop phase is discarded after leaving the air nozzle when quality of the roving does not meet a desired specification. The roving discharge is deactivated when the quality of the roving meets the desired specification and the roving removed by the roving discharge is separated from the roving.

Method for processing a strand-shaped fiber sliver, and roving frame machine

A traversing element is provided for a spinning machine that produces a roving. The traversing element includes a guide segment disposed to guide the roving onto a surface of a tube or a roving bobbin, and a support segment. The guide segment is configured at an end of the support segment and an opposite end of the support segment is connectable to a support of the spinning machine. A closed cavity is provided in the traversing element, the closed cavity partially filled with a liquid. Heat that occurs in the guide segment due to friction between the guide segment and the roving when the traversing element is operating is absorbed by the liquid.

A textile machine and associate method are provided for producing a roving, wherein a consolidating means produces a roving having a protective twist from a fiber bundle. A winding device is arranged downstream of the consolidating means in a transport direction of the roving and winds the roving onto a tube driven by a tube drive. An arrangement is disposed to bring the roving leaving the consolidating means during a roving production start procedure into contact with the tube. The arrangement includes a movably mounted suction unit with a suction opening that is configured to suck up the roving during ongoing roving production. Means are provided to bring the roving running between the consolidating means and the suction opening into contact with the tube during ongoing roving production. Means are further provided to cut the roving such that a section of the roving grasped by the suction unit is conveyed away by the suction unit and a section of the roving running between the consolidating means and the tube is wound onto the tube.

Textile machine for producing roving and method for starting the roving production on a corresponding textile machine

A method for operating a textile machine is provided to produce roving from a fiber bundle with a consolidating means, the roving having a protective twist. The produced roving is wound onto a tube with a winding device. During the winding process, the roving is guided a guide element arranged between the consolidating means and the tube, wherein the guide element exerts a decelerating effect on the roving. The decelerating effect is controlled during operation of the textile machine such that the decelerating effect is lower during a start procedure while the roving leaving the consolidating means is brought into contact with a tube or during a tube change while a wound tube is replaced by an empty tube than during a winding process that takes place between the start procedure and the tube change.

Textile machine for the production of roving and method for operating the same

A method and associated textile machine are provided to produce a roving having a protective twist from a fiber bundle fed to a consolidating means. The produced roving is wound with a winding device onto a tube arranged at a winding position. After the wound tube has been fully or partially wound with the roving, a tube change is initiated. During the tube change, the wound tube is removed from the winding position and an empty tube is moved into the winding position. During the tube change, the roving is wound onto the wound tube at least until the roving comes into contact with the empty tube as a result of the tube change such that the production of the roving is not interrupted during the tube change. During the tube change, the roving is wound onto the wound tube in a region that lies outside a region last wound prior to the tube change.

Textile machine and method for operating same

A spinning preparation machine includes a consolidating means for producing a roving having a protective twist from a fiber bundle, a drafting system arranged upstream of the consolidating means, a winding device arranged downstream of the consolidating means, and a movably mounted traversing element adjacent the winding device to guide the roving being wound onto a tube. In a side view of the spinning preparation machine, the consolidating means is arranged vertically between at least one feed roller of the drafting system and the traversing element, and the feed roller and the traversing element are arranged on a same side of the consolidating means so that in operation of the spinning preparation machine, the roving experiences a change in direction after exiting the consolidating means and prior to being wound onto the tube.

A spinning preparation machine has consolidating means for producing a roving from a fiber bundle and a drafting system for drafting the fiber bundle. The drafting system is arranged upstream of the consolidating means in a transport direction of the drafting system. A guide is arranged upstream of the drafting system for guiding the fiber bundle between a container providing the fiber bundle and the drafting system. The guide has a feed segment opposite from the drafting system and a delivery segment facing the drafting system. The spinning preparation machine has a winding device for winding the roving onto a tube, and a tube transport device for providing empty tubes and/or for removing tubes loaded with roving by the winding device. The tube transport device has a conveyor for transporting empty tubes and/or tubes loaded with roving, wherein the conveyors are arranged at least in part between the feed segment of the guide and the drafting system.

A drive unit is provided for powering a turret winding head for winding roving onto bobbin tubes. The drive unit comprises a closed housing, a first and a second spindle disposed in a turret base plate, wherein the turret base plate is formed as part of the housing and the spindles are disposed outside of the housing. A first drive is provided for the first spindle and a second drive is provided for the second spindle. The drives are disposed inside the housing, and the first and second drives are each provided with a fan wheel. An intake duct, through which air is drawn in by the fan wheel from outside of the housing, is in each case provided on the intake side of the fan wheel of the first and second drives.

The invention relates to a presser finger () which is a component of a winder for winding a roving on to a rotating bobbin () with a longitudinal axis (). The presser finger () has a carrying arm () with a longitudinal axis () and a rovingguide element. The presser finger () also has a guide plate () for guiding the roving on to a rotating bobbin (). The presser finger () is alternatingly movable in the direction (X) of the longitudinal axis () of the rotating bobbin (), and this movement of the presser finger () is provided by a drive means. The invention also relates to a roving winder with the aforementioned presser finger () and a method of winding a roving with the aid of the aforementioned presser finger ().

A spinning position on an air-jet spinning machine has a yarn-forming element extending at least partially into the turbulence chamber; and air jets directed into the turbulence chamber to impart to the fiber strand a twist in the area of an intake mouth of the yarn-forming element. A guide arrangement for guiding the fiber strand is situated in the area of the inlet port of the turbulence chamber and comprises at least two guide sections spaced a distance apart from one another, their mutual spacing decreasing in at least some sections in the direction of conveyance of the fiber strand. The guide arrangement also comprises at least one central guide element, which extends at least partially between the guide sections in a section running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the draw-off channel and produces a deflection of the fibers of the fiber strand perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the draw-off channel.

A spinning nozzle for an air-jet spinning machine has a base body with an internal turbulence chamber, an inlet opening for the fiber sliver which enters the turbulence chamber and a fiber guide channel for guiding the fiber sliver entering the inlet opening. A thread-forming element extends at least partially into the turbulence chamber and has an inlet mouth as well as an adjoining take-off channel for the thread in the transport direction. Air nozzles are directed into the turbulence chamber. The spinning nozzle has an extension piece that is releasably fixed to the base body in the region of the inlet opening, wherein the fiber guide channel adjoining the inlet opening is formed at least partially by a channel section of the extension piece.

A roving machine and method for producing a roving from a fiber sliver has at least one spinning station with a vortex chamber, an infeed opening for the fiber sliver, and a roving forming element in the form of a spindle that has an inlet port and extends at least partially into the vortex chamber. The vortex chamber is associated with spinning nozzles through which air can be guided into the vortex chamber to impart, after a piecing process, a protective twist to the fiber sliver in the region of the inlet port. The spindle has a draw-off channel via which the roving provided with the protective twist is drawn out of the vortex chamber. Piecing nozzles are additionally associated with the vortex chamber, wherein each of the piecing nozzles has a flow direction which is aligned in the direction of the inlet port of the spindle.

Roving machine for producing a roving and method for piecing a fiber sliver

An air spinning device has a nozzle body and a hollow spindle with a spindle tip and a longitudinal axis, wherein the spindle tip protrudes into the nozzle body. An outlet channel having a ring-shaped cross-sectional area is formed between an outside surface of the spindle tip and an inside surface of the nozzle body. The gap width at a certain location of the outlet channel normal to the longitudinal axis of the spindle is constant over the circumference of the spindle. The outside surface of the spindle tip and/or the inside surface of the nozzle body is/are shaped in such a way that at least two constrictions are formed in the outlet channel in its course in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the spindle, wherein the outlet channel has a ring-shaped cross-sectional area at each of these constrictions smaller than the ring-shaped cross-sectional area of the outlet channel upstream and downstream from each of these constrictions.
