A method for generating a flow by a peristaltic hose pump, a generated fluid pressure being limited to 500 mbar and being achieved and maintained without a pressure measurement during operation of the pump. A length of a flexible and elastic pump segment of a hose is adjusted such that, while a roller wheel is stationary, and while the segment is guided under tension around the roller wheel, and when applying a fluid pressure in the range from 10 to 400 mbar to one end of the pump segment, a backflow leakage in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the roller wheel is created, and a flow of the fluid of at least 0.01 l/min through the pump segment is obtained, taking into account the backflow leakage. The distance of fixing points of each end of the pump segment to the roller wheel rotation axis is fixed.

Peristaltic hose pump

The invention concerns a hose cartridge for a peristaltic pump comprising a cartridge housing, comprising a flexible pump hose segment extending through the cartridge housing, wherein both ends of the pump hose segment are fixed in the cartridge housing by a first fixing member and a second fixing member, wherein the first fixing member and the second fixing member are arranged in the area of a first front face of the cartridge housing, and wherein the cartridge housing includes a recess for the engagement of a roller wheel of the pump in the interior of the cartridge housing. It is characterized by that the pump hose segment extends in the hose cartridge along a circular segment (K) spanning an angle of at least 90&#xb0;, when the hose cartridge is not inserted into the pump.

Tubing cassette for a peristaltic pump

A peristaltic hose pump comprising a roller wheel, which can rotate about a roller wheel axis and which has rollers that are mounted on the roller wheel. The rollers roll along a circular path having a certain radius with respect to the roller wheel axis. The peristaltic hose pump also comprises a pressure arched element with a supporting surface, whereby the supporting surface extends along a circular path having a certain radius around the rotation axis of the roller wheel. In addition, a flexible hose can be inserted between the supporting surface and the rollers of the roller wheel.
