An LED light bulb includes a stand, a plurality of LED light sources supported by the stand and arranged along edges of at least two geometric shapes, and an envelope enclosing the stand and the plurality LED light sources. A method of assembling an LED light bulb includes arranging a plurality of LED light sources along edges of at least two geometric shapes, supporting the arrangement of LED light sources on a stand, and enclosing the plurality of LED light sources and the stand within an envelope.

Lamp design with LED stem structure

Provided is a driver circuit including an input port configured for coupling to a ballast and a transformer having a first side coupled to the input port. The driver circuit also includes a rectifier having an input portion coupled to a second side of the transformer and an output portion configured for coupling to a light source. The transformer is configured to match output characteristics of the ballast to input characteristics of the light source.

Light emitting diode (LED) lamp replacement driver for linear fluorescent lamps

Provided is a system for replacing a fluorescent lamp with a light emitting diode (LED) into a conventional fluorescent lighting fixture without modifications. The lighting assembly includes an LED unit having a first end and a second end. The lighting assembly also includes a safety locking device positioned on at least one of the first end and the second end of the LED unit and coupled to a lighting fixture. The safety locking device comprises a safety switch defining an unarmed state and an armed state. To prevent a risk of shock, the safety switch is changed from the unarmed state to the armed state upon manual activation of the safety switch after the LED unit is moved into a locked position. The armed state enables an electrical communication between the two ends of the LED unit to activate the LED unit.
