A pressure measuring device suitable for disposition in a chamber of an internal combustion engine. The pressure measuring device has a housing, a force transmitting element that is effectively connected to a pressure sensor, and a sensor cage that surrounds the pressure sensor. The sensor cage is connected to the housing by a circumferential weld seam only at one connection segment of the housing. In this way, it is possible to achieve a defined pre-tensioning of a metal diaphragm that is connected on the one hand to the sensor cage and on the other hand to the force transmitting element.

Pressure measuring device

The invention describes membrane protections for a sensor having a membrane, which membrane protection does not increase the external diameter of a sensor and can be easily removed from a hole in which the sensor is installed. The membrane protection can be fastened to an inner surface of a front region of a sensor using a clip system and thus forms a unit with the sensor. The membrane protection for a sensor which can be screwed into a hole of an installation part and is provided with a membrane in the front region. The membrane protection has a clip system in order to be internally fastened in the front region of such a sensor. The sensor has a membrane protection which is internally fitted to the front region of the sensor using a clip system.

The invention relates to a component for installation in force or pressure sensors, in particular in a glow plug. The component comprises a disc-type or punched-disc type measuring element consisting of a piezoelectric material, punched-disc type or disc-type electrodes that lie on either side of the measuring element. The electrodes have contact points for contacting conductors. The component comprises in addition a respective transmission body or several transmission bodies that are located outside the electrodes, on either side of the latter. The measuring element, electrodes and transmission bodies are held together mechanically by an external, electrically insulating film.

A sheathed-element glow plug is used to be situated in a chamber in an internal combustion engine. The sheathed-element glow plug has a housing, a pin-shaped heating element, which extends partially from the housing and a pressure sensor which is situated in an inner chamber of the housing. A prestressing sleeve is provided, in this context, which applies a prestressing to the pressure sensor.

An acceleration-compensated pressure pick-up, for example for the measurement of dynamic processes in gaseous or liquid media, comprises an external housing and a pre-assembled inner part having a flange at its assembly end. The inner part is securely fixed to the housing only at the flange. A first mass is connected via a first resilient connection to the flange, and a second mass is connected to the flange via a second resilient connection. A first measurement crystal is inserted under pre-tension between the two masses. A third mass and a compensation crystal are arranged between the first measurement crystal and the second mass, and the compensation crystal is electrically connected in opposition to the first measurement crystal. The two rigidities of the resilient connections and the three masses are matched so that the measurement values which can be determined at the crystals due to an axial acceleration acting on the housing compensate each other.

The invention relates to a measuring sensor held under pre-stress for measuring forces and/or torques. In the inventive embodiment, a sensor is integrated into an adapter sleeve, which is configured in a compact manner in such a way that it is equipped with devices for connection to an adapter part and devices for fixing to a measuring component. The sensor is subjected to the required pre-stress by connecting the adapter sleeve to the adapter part. An amplification module can also be mounted in the adapter sleeve.

The invention relates to a pressure sensor (), comprising a housing (), a housing element () which may be exposed to a pressure chamber (), mounted on the housing () by means of a metallic membrane () and a measuring cell () which can indirectly measure a pressure acting on the housing element () and transmitted to the measuring cell () as a force resulting therefrom. According to the invention, said pressure sensor () comprises a housing element () embodied as a pin and projects out of the housing (). The advantage of such an arrangement is only a small drilling to a pressure chamber () need be provided, in order to carry out a pressure measurement. The pin () need only be so long that the front end thereof, in the assembled state, approximately reaches the wall () of the pressure chamber ().

Pressure sensor

A sensor assembly including a sensor and a data storage medium, on which the specific data of the sensor, such as type, measurement range, calibration date, serial number, manufacturer, etc. are stored. The data may be directly transmitted from the data storage medium to the evaluation device for the adjustment of the evaluation device. Measurement signals from the sensor and data signals from the data storage medium are transmitted via a plug to the evaluation device. The data storage medium is arranged outside the sensor in the connection to the plug, or in the plug enclosure, and is, thus, firmly connected to the sensor. Thus, the sensor, e.g., a piezosensor for the determination of pressures, accelerations or forces, is suitable for the employment in a region with increased temperatures.

A metallic cylinder head gasket for an internal combustion engine having at least one combustion chamber. The gasket includes at least one sheet-metal layer having at least one opening corresponding to the at least one combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine and at least one bore extending from the outer edge to the edge of the opening. A membrane, closing the bore at the combustion-chamber side is exposed to the gas pressure of the combustion chamber. A pressure sensor disposed in the sheet-metal layer is pressurized axially relative to the bore by movement of the membrane by the gas pressure of the combustion chamber.

Cylinder head gasket

A force and moment measuring device has multicomponent force measuring cells arranged in opposite pairs at either side of a force introducing platform or mounting plate, viewed in the direction of their tension/pressure sensitivity. The opposed force measuring cells are preloaded by a common preloading screw extending in the direction of their tension/pressure sensitivity and passing through the force introduction platform without friction. The opposed force measuring cells have opposed tension/pressure sensitivity orientation. The tension/pressure measuring signals resulting from a temperature change occurring in the mounting plate and/or in the common preloading screw are cancelled out by opposed measuring cells, while the measured values generated by a force acting in one direction are added together.

Force and /or moment measuring device

For a comparative material testing of similar formed parts based on their dynamic behaviour under acoustic excitation vibrations, in order to obtain clear-cut information about the material properties it is necessary to assure constant excitations of the vibration generator and a constant pressing force when coupling this to the object being tested. This is accomplished by using a piezoelectric actuator in an assembly unit with an electromechanical sensor and a coupling element, whereby the excitation voltages of the actuator are monitored and its vibrations passing into the formed part are registered by the sensor.

Arrangement for testing the material of formed parts

An interposed sensor having a housing whose lateral extend is not greater than the lateral extend of the machine parts is to be installed between and having a plurality of measuring elements welded under preloading to the housing. Electronics including charge amplifiers are integral with the housing, either interior the lateral extend or in an annular compartment.

A thin disk force sensor having measuring elements of not more than five layers including force introducing layers welded under preloading to a thin disk housing. The measuring elements, weld and disk housing are planarized. A vapor deposited layer is selectively applied to the force measuring elements to increase the applied force compared to the housing.

The sensor has the form of a thin disk fitted between a cylinder cover and a nut of a cylinder cover stud under preload, thus replacing the standard washer.
