A torque limiter for a surgical screwdriver that includes an outer sleeve (); a snap sleeve (), which is arranged in and rotates with the outer sleeve; a rolling element cage (), which is arranged in the snap sleeve; an inner sleeve (), which is arranged in the rolling element cage; and a force-transmitting shaft (), which is received in and rotates with the inner sleeve. The inner wall of the outer sleeve is provided with recesses () that extend parallel to a rotational axis of the force-transmitting shaft. The rolling element cage is provided with a plurality of rolling element receiving areas (), each of which holds a rolling element (), and with a number of noses (), which engage into the recesses. The inner sleeve is provided with a plurality of notches (), which extend in a V-shape parallel to the axis and which receive the rolling elements.

Torque limiter

A pretensionable locking system, a method for producing a locking system and a medical-technical instrument including a locking system. The locking system () includes a locking body () with an inner thread (), and an inner locking body () with an outer thread (). In a pretensioned position, the inner thread lies against the outer thread in a first longitudinal axial direction () and is pretensioned against the outer thread. In a locked position, the outer locking body is fixed on the inner locking body by screwing the inner thread onto the outer thread. The outer locking body has a resilient retaining element () that projects radially inward, and the inner locking body has a rigid bulge () that projects radially outward. In the pretensioned position, the retaining element lies against the bulge in a second longitudinal axial direction () that is opposite the first longitudinal axial direction.

Pretensionable locking system

A torque limiter has an outer sleeve whose interior wall possesses at least one peripheral groove and a plurality of recesses running parallel to the axis. An elastic ring is inserted in each groove. A rolling-element cage has the same number of slots as the number of recesses possessed by the outer sleeve that receives it. A plurality of the rolling elements that are inserted into the rolling element slots. The inner sleeve which slots into the rolling-element cage and whose exterior wall possesses the same number of V-shaped notches&#x2014;running parallel to the axis&#x2014;as the number of rolling element slots is provided. A tool or system is provided to restrict the relative torsion between the rolling-element cage and the outer sleeve between a first received position&#x2014;and a second received position&#x2014;when the outer sleeve is loosened by rotation and the rolling elements which slot into the notches on the inner sleeve change position vis-&#xe0;-vis the recesses on the outer sleeve.

A screw driver for a screw having a drive socket having an axially extending shaft with a bifurcated tip, the tip having a cross-sectional profile for insertion into a cross-sectional profile of the screw socket. The shaft has a tapered section adjacent the bifurcated tip. A bushing is mounted on an outer surface of the shaft for axial movement therealong. The bushing has inwardly extending protrusions for engaging the tapered section on the shaft upon movement in the axial direction along the shaft in a direction away from the tip. This allows the selective capture or release of the screw by the shaft tip by axial movement of the bushing away from and towards the shaft distal tip.
