The invention relates to a device for pneumatically operating a tool which can be driven by means of pressure, such especially, pneumatic pliers. The device has a cylinder comprising one or more pneumatically operated, nonpositively fitted pistons arranged in a row, for generating a translatory force. The respective piston rods of the pistons are sealed against the preceding piston and guided in cylinder covers by means of a seal, such as a lip seal. Components such as a wedge piston are functionally connected to the pistons, said wedge piston being coupled to a cuneiform wedge, for transferring the translatory force and for operating the tool. The pistons are supported by at least one piston guidance strip, in the direction against the inner wall of the cylinder.

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for selective driving of valves of small drive power by means of light. A control generates control signals which are modulated onto a light source which emits said control signals which are received by all the valves via solar cells. However only the addressed valve is switched. No cabling is necessary between the control and the valves.

Method of and arrangement for individually activating valves

An apparatus for measuring the electromagnetic values of a coil, in particular for measuring the position of the armature of a coil/armature magnetic system includes a capacitor connected parallel at an arbitrary location to a supply line for the coil so as to define a parallel resonant circuit containing inductance of the coil and capacitance of the capacitor. An exciting frequency is introduced into the parallel resonant circuit by a transducer which is connected to the supply line. In addition, an evaluation instrument is connected to the supply line for determining the resonant frequency of the parallel resonant circuit and thus the position of the armature of the coil/armature magnetic system.
