A device () for continuously generating cold and heat by a magnetic effect. The device includes a magnetic field generator (), which is arranged in at least one crown segment and defines an annular space crossed by a circular coaxial part () provided with radial transverse cavities () and contains at least one type of magneto-calorific material. The inventive device also includes a circulating pump () for axially supplying a heat carrier to the cavities (). A first collector () picks up the heat carrier, which passes through the radial cavities () in the area containing the magnetic field generator (), and a second collector () picks up the heat carrier which passes through the radial cavities () in an area located outside of the magnetic field generator ().

Device for generating cold and heat by a magneto-calorific effect

The device () for continuous generation of cold and heat by the magneto-calorific effect, comprises a chamber (), divided into two adjacent compartments (), separated by a wall (). The chamber () contains a rotating element () made from at least one magneto-calorific material, a first circuit () with a first heat exchange fluid circulating therein and a second circuit () with a second heat exchange fluid circulating therein. The chamber () is connected to magnetic device () for generating a magnetic field in the region of the compartment () in which the rotating element () is located. When the above is set in rotation the part thereof located in the first compartment () is magnetized upon undergoing an increase in temperature. On passing into the second compartment (), the part is demagnetized upon undergoing a cooling. The heat and the cold thus generated are transmitted by the heat exchange fluids respectively to user circuits for heat () and cold () for recovery and use for ulterior purposes.

The device (), for the continuous generation of cold and heat by magneto-calorific effect, comprises a mixture of a heat exchange fluid and particles made from at least one magneto-calorific material, superconductor or phase-change material circulating through a first heat exchanger () subject to a magnetic field generated by magnetic device (), associated with the first heat exchanger (). On passing into the generated magnetic field, the particles undergo an increase in temperature and heat the mixture in the first heat exchanger () and on leaving the magnetic field, the particles undergo a reduction in temperature to cool a mixture entering a second heat exchanger (). A cold circuit () extracts the cold from the second heat exchanger () and a hot circuit () extracts the heat from the first heat exchanger ().

Method and device for the generation of cold and heat by magneto-calorific effect

The invention relates to a method and a device for the continuous measurement () of the thermal conductivity of a multifunctional fluid. The inventive method consists of: placing a sample of the multifunctional fluid in a space () which is defined by an inlet face and an outlet face; transmitting at least one very brief pulse of a heat flux to the sample via the inlet face, using a laser (); measuring the heat wave at least three points which are spaced out inside the sample; using at least three temperature sensors (S, S, S) in order to determine the change in the temperature of the multifunctional fluid as a function of time at the three spaced-out points inside the sample; deducing the thermodynamic characteristics of the sample from the aforementioned temperature change and calculating the thermal conductivity from equation (I), wherein T represents thermal conductivity which is dependent on temperature, t represents thermal diffusivity which is dependent on k and which is equal to k(T)/&#x3c1;*Cp, &#x3c1; and Cp representing mass density and specific heat.
