A system to deliver a prosthesis for repair of a transected body vessel is described herein. The system can have a prosthesis and a plurality of distinct strands. A releasable loop can be formed at a distal end of each strand and positioned to retain one of a plurality of portions of the prosthesis in a compressed configuration. Each portion of the prosthesis can be independently movable between the compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. Retraction of the proximal end or severing the loop of any one of the strands can cause the corresponding loop to release to allow the corresponding portion of the prosthesis to expand from the compressed configuration to the expanded configuration. The prosthesis can couple two vessel portions of the transected vessel together to allow for blood perfusion and maintain hemostasis.

Emergency vascular repair system and method

A system and method for monitoring the placement of a feeding tube in the jejunum of a patient includes a system comprising a feeding tube and a tubular member received in a passageway extending through the feeding tube. The tubular member is sized relative to the feeding tube such that an echogenic distal length of the tubular member extends distal to the open distal end of the feeding tube. The distal end of the assembly is advanced into the small intestine of the patient, and a negative pressure is drawn through an opening in the distal length of the tubular member to draw the tubular member distal length into juxtaposition with a wall of the small intestine. The position of the assembly in the small intestine may be observed in real time via ultrasound visualization of the echogenic portion.

System and method for feeding tube placement

The disclosure provides a catheter for positioning in a contralateral femoral approach in highly angulated iliac bifurcations. The catheter comprises an elongate shaft, an adjustable element, and a wire entrance port on the elongate shaft. The elongate shaft has a proximal portion, an intermediate portion, a curved portion, and a distal portion. The curved portion connects the intermediate portion and the distal portion. The adjustable element is configured to encompass the distal portion and the intermediate portion together in a closed position. The adjustable element can be removed away from the distal portion permitting the distal portion in an open position. The wire entrance port is disposed in the intermediate portion near the curved portion. The distal portion is biased to be spaced away from the intermediate portion in the open position. The adjustable element is connected to an operating wire configured to advance and retreat through the wire entrance port.
