A method for producing a ready-for-use camshaft for controlling valves of an internal combustion engine may be directed towards camshafts that include a carrier shaft on which an end component, for example, a drive wheel, a phase adjuster, or a part of a phase adjuster, is arranged and cam elements that are attached in a positionally fixed manner to the carrier shaft. In some examples, the method comprises providing a carrier shaft and an end component, joining the end component to the carrier shaft, grinding at least the carrier shaft to form cam seats so as to establish readiness for use, introducing a surface profile into a first cam seat, providing a cam element with ready-for-use characteristics, seating the cam element on the cam seat with the surface profile, and repeating certain steps for additional cam elements.

Method for producing a camshaft assembly

Disclosed herein is a method for assembling a module for a motor vehicle engine, which module comprises at least one supporting structure with bearing seats and at least one camshaft which is mounted rotatably in the bearing seats, the camshaft being constructed during the assembly of the module from a support shaft which is configured at least in sections as a hollow shaft and components which are to be connected to the support shaft at predefined joining positions. The method includes providing a supporting structure having bearing seats, positioning components to be affixed to a support shaft in a preliminary position with respect to the bearing seats, pushing the support shaft through the bearing seats and through-openings of the components, enlarging portions of the outer diameter of the support shaft at defined joining positions thereof, and axially moving the components on the support shaft onto the joining positions.

Method for assembling an engine module

A method for assembling a camshaft from a support shaft and components to be connected to the support shaft, the components having through-openings for receiving the support shaft. In this method, a support shaft is provided, having first diametrical enlargements in first regions, in which the components are to be secured, and second diametrical enlargements in second regions, in which the components are to be pre-positioned. A diameter (D2) in the second regions is smaller than a diameter (D1) in the first regions The support shaft is cooled and/or the components are heated up, so that the support shaft can be pushed with its first and second diametrical enlargements through the through-openings of the components.

Method for assembling a camshaft

A camshaft includes a carrier shaft which can be mounted rotatably along a shaft axis and at least one cam pack disposed axially displaceably on the carrier shaft. The cam pack includes at least two cams and at least one adjusting member for axial adjustment of the cam pack. The cams and the at least one adjusting member are connected to one another in an axially adjacent configuration and can be mounted axially displaceably as a composite structure in a direct configuration on the carrier shaft. A method for producing a camshaft and a cam pack are also provided.

Camshaft having an axially displaceable cam pack

A camshaft includes a carrier shaft to be mounted rotatably along a shaft axis and at least one cam pack or package axially displaceably disposed on the carrier shaft. The cam pack includes at least two cams and at least one adjusting member for axial adjustment of the cam pack. The cams and the at least one adjusting member are connected to one another in an axially adjacent configuration and can be mounted axially displaceably as a composite structure in a direct configuration on the carrier shaft by a rolling element guide with rolling elements. A cam pack or package and a method for producing a camshaft are also provided.

Camshaft with an axially displaceable cam pack

A camshaft includes a carrier shaft to be mounted rotatably in a shaft axis and at least one cam pack axially displaceable on the carrier shaft. The cam pack includes at least two cams and at least one adjusting member for axial adjustment of the cam pack. The cams and adjusting member are interconnected in an axially adjacent configuration by an integrally molded body. The body is integrally molded on at least one cam and the adjusting member by an original molding process and a composite structure is formed by the integrally molded body. The composite structure can be mounted in a direct configuration on the carrier shaft to be axially displaceable thereon. The cams and the adjusting member include inner toothing engaging in an axially displaceable manner with outer toothing of the carrier shaft. A cam pack and a method for producing a camshaft are also provided.

A camshaft includes a carrier shaft which can be mounted rotatably along a shaft axis and at least one cam pack or package axially displaceably disposed on the carrier shaft. The cam pack includes at least two cams and at least one adjusting member for axial adjustment of the cam pack. The cams and the at least one adjusting member are cast integrally with a carrier body in an axially adjacent configuration and are connected to one another by the carrier body. The cams and/or the adjusting member include an inner toothing which engages in an axially displaceable manner with an outer toothing of the carrier shaft. A cam pack and a method for producing a camshaft are also provided.

Camshaft with axially movable cam pack

A cam unit for arranging on a camshaft main part of a camshaft in a rotationally fixed and axially movable manner. The cam unit includes a tubular sleeve main part and at least one cam element that lies on the sleeve main part in a rotationally fixed and non-movable manner. The sleeve main part and the at least one cam element are designed as individual parts that can be separately produced and subsequently assembled.

Cam unit for a constructed camshaft

A camshaft arrangement for a motor vehicle engine has a hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft supporting inner shaft cams. The inner shaft cams are non-rotatably attached to the inner shaft by at least one connection element that protrudes with clearance through an aperture in the outer shaft and is attached to the respective inner shaft cam which is rotatably mounted on the outer shaft. When inserted into a receiver in the inner shaft, a portion of the connection element protrudes out of the receiver, and the protruding portion is at least partially inserted into an aperture located at the joint diameter of the inner shaft cam. This aperture is open at least towards an end face of the inner shaft cam. The protruding portion has at least two opposite-lying side surfaces lying with an interference fit against corresponding inner surfaces of the aperture of the inner shaft cam.
