An arresting brake device with triggering equipment for elevators provides different braking effect in upward and downward directions of travel. The device includes a tiltable rocker, as a barrier element, provided with an articulated two-point bearing in yielding joint pans. The rocker is operatively connected with a movable brake shoe and is, on actuation by triggering equipment, tilted by entraining members up to an abutment beyond or ahead of its dead center according to the direction of travel of an elevator car in upward or downward directions. By the tilting movement, one or the other yielding joint pan is pushed against a biased adjustable compression spring and the movable brake shoe and a fixed brake shoe are accordingly urged against a guide rail. The compression springs, which are arranged in a spring block, can each be biased separately in a variable manner by a respective setting screw.

Arresting brake device for elevators

Apparatus for making stencils of the type having a rectangular frame and a woven fabric stretched upon and affixed to the frame for use in a screen printing machine has a table which supports four rows of neighboring fabric stretching devices surrounding a rectangular portion of the upper side of the table. Each stretching device has a support the underside of which abuts the upper side of the table, and a double-acting hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder and piston unit pivoted to the support and having a piston rod extendable toward and retractable away from the frame at the rectangular portion of the upper side of the table. The free end of each piston rod carries tongs having a pair of fabric-engaging jaws which stretch the fabric during retraction of the respective piston rod.

Apparatus for making stencils for use in screen printing machines

In the stepping or indexing drive of a character drum having secured thereat a pinion, wherein there is provided an actuation plunger for rotary motion of the pinion in the one direction and another actuation plunger for rotary motion of the pinion in the other direction, there must be prevented that the character drum while rotating from one index position to the next can be stopped and remain in an intermediate position between two index positions. For this purpose, there is provided a movable locking or detent element which coacts with both actuation plungers and with inclined surfaces formed at the switch housing. This locking or detent element is brought by each individual actuation plunger, at the start of its actuating path, into a locking position for the other actuation plunger and retained in this locking position to positively prevent simultaneous actuation of both actuation plungers.
