Two-component adhesives (K), which includes two components Kand K. Component Kincludes at least one epoxy resin A with more than one epoxy group per molecule on average; at least one epoxy adduct B with more than one epoxy group per molecule on average that is an epoxy adduct of type Band optionally combined with an epoxy adduct of type B; at least one reaction product F between an epoxy adduct B and a compound C, which has at least two isocyanate groups, in addition to at least one curing agent D for epoxy resins, which is activated by increased temperature. Two-component adhesive for producing semi-finished products and composite sandwich materials

Novel undercoats for use on porous bases such as, for example, concrete are disclosed. Said undercoats contain or comprise at least one epoxy resin, at least one latent hardener and at least one solvent. The above are characterize in being easy to produce, contain no isocyanate groups and form a good ageing-resistant adhesion, in particular, with single component isocyanate-free sealants, cross-linked by means of silane groups.

Undercoating for concrete

A new method for the bonding of painted construction parts, in particular for the structural bonding of painted metals surfaces is described. In a first step of the inventive method, a carcase work adhesive is applied onto all parts of the oiled steel sheet on which later on, during assembly, bonding shall be performed. For the bonding, the lacquer layers on the carcase work adhesive are removed prior to the application of an assembly adhesive. Said method is simple and rugged. In comparison with the state of the art it is more economic, enables a highly structural and high strength joining with high torsional strength and a high ageing resistant compound quality.

Method for structural bonding on painted surfaces

A storage-stable moisture-curing one-component fire-retardant polyurethane system, useful as adhesive, sealant or coating material, comprising at least one hydrated mineral having a water-content of less than 0.1% and being treated with a moisture-reactive compound, and at least one binder on isocyanate basis. Such PU-systems preferably further comprise at least one phosphorus-containing compound, most preferably a phosphorus-containing plasticizer, which is preferably halogen-free. The binder on isocyanate basis has preferably an isocyanate content in the range of from 0.01 to 10% by weight referred to the total weight of the system.

Fire-retardant polyurethane systems

An adhesive compound is described that is formed using a specific adhesive system. Due to the specific adhesive system the disconnecting of the adhesive compound is considerably eased, which, in particular, is of great benefit for the quick removal of plastic windows in case of emergency. The specific properties of the adhesive compound are based on its specific structure. In the middle of the compound between the substrates a specific parting layer is installed by which the two substrates can be disconnected easily. The parting layer preferably is an elastomer that has an extremely high tenacity and an elongation at rupture of 500% up to more than 1500% and that shows a good adherence to the assembly adhesive so that the removal can be performed by stretching the parting layer whereby it constricts and thereby peels off from the adhesive.

Specific adhesive compound suitable for easy removal

New primers for the improvement of the adhesion of cross-linking adhesive systems top polyolefinic thermoplastic materials such as e.g., polypropylene, polyethylene or EPDM are disclosed. Said primers, on the one hand are characterized by a simple method of production and good storage stability, on the other hand by good wetting and good homogeneous film forming characteristics, said film forming characteristics enabling a uniform thickness of the layer, leading to good adhesion qualities. Essential constituents of such primers are prepolymers based on hydrogenated polyisoprene diol.

Primer

New thixotropic agents for the use in cross-linking systems, in particular one-component adhesives and sealants, are described. The thixotropic agents have the advantage that on the one hand they cause only a minor or no increase in viscosity, and on the other hand they do not cause any blead out or migration, respectively. The thixotropic agents of the present invention are based on urea derivatives that usually are present in a concentration of 5 to 50 wt.-%, in particular of 15 to 30 wt.-%, in a preferably reactive carrier material. After the cross-linking of the system, the reactive carrier material is incorporated, preferably into the structure matrix, or interwoven with said structure matrix, respectively, such that it can not diffuse out of the cured material.

Thixotropic agent

A method of sealing body parts such as an edge fold of a motor vehicle component, for example a door, a rear or front flap or a sliding roof panel, includes a two-step pre-cross-linking of the sealing composition in the rough body part. In a first step the surface of a UV-active sealing composition is pre-cross-linked by UV irradiation, and in a second step immediately following, the edge fold adhesive and the sealing composition are hardened by thermal action. The edge-sealed body parts produced by the method are transportable and are of visually and functionally satisfactory quality after passing through cleaning baths and after thermal hardening in a KTL kiln. Since the sealing is carried out in the rough body part rather than during the coating process, the method provides a substantial potential cost saving.

Method of edge fold sealing

A morpholine group comprising catalyst of the general formula, ##STR1## wherein n+m is &gt;1 and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10, R.sub.11, R.sub.12, R.sub.13 and R.sub.14 are independently from each other hydrogen or an alkyl group, particularly a methyl or an ethyl group, is described. Said catalyst is particularly suitable for the use in storage stable polyurethane (PU)-compositions usable as adhesives, sealings, coatings or pretreatments with a primer. Said PU compositions have a delayed skinning time and thus an extended assembly time but nevertheless a fast development of strength, and they are suitable for the application on metal, glass, ceramics, wood, cementitious substratums and plastic substratums.
