Intraoral phototherapy devices receive light from an associated light source and propagate the light into an oral cavity of a patient. The device comprises a light guide that receives light from an external light source. The light guide comprises a main body portion made of an optically transparent soft flexible biocompatible polymeric material sized and shaped to conform to contours of the oral cavity when inserted therein to direct the light to targeted regions of the oral cavity. The main body portion comprises a pair of spaced apart side wings sized and shaped to be received between a patient's teeth and cheeks on opposite sides of the oral cavity and a center flap intermediate the side wings for transmitting and directing the light to targeted regions of the oral cavity. A controller delivers light to the light guide in a controlled manner.

Intraoral phototherapy devices

A phototherapy system having sensor(s) for detecting parameters associated with light generation by a light source and circuitry for modulating the light source based on the detected parameters. Also, a phototherapy system having a light guide interfacing with a light source at a connection point, an ambient light sensor, a connector light sensor for detecting (at the connection point) ambient light received by a light emitting pad that is directed into the light guide, and circuitry for determining whether the light guide is correctly connected to the light source based on a difference between the output of the ambient light source and the connector light sensor. Further, a phototherapy system including a light emitting pad having an identification tag and circuitry that modulates a light source based on the identification tag. Additionally, a phototherapy system including a casing encapsulating multiple light emitters and a light emitting pad.

Phototherapy system

A phototherapy device for delivering light emitted by a light source to an infant. The phototherapy device includes two or more light pads configured to be optically connected to a light source via a connector. Light emitted by the light source is received by the connector and propagated through the connector to the light pads. The phototherapy device also includes a flexible garment configured to maintain the position of the pads on a front and back of an infant.

An illuminated bassinet including a light source for delivering therapeutic light and anti-bacterial light, where an interlock prevents the anti-bacterial light from being emitted while an infant is located in the bassinet. Also, a surgical illuminator configured to concurrently or alternately emit different wavelengths of light for treating a physiological condition and for affecting perception of the surgical opening.

Tunable light source

A phototherapy device including a flexible light emitting pad is provided. The phototherapy device allows an infant to be swaddled while the infant simultaneously receives phototherapy treatment on his/her front, back, and sides without the use of external light sources.

Lighting assembly comprises an optical fiber light guide panel member having a light conducting core cladded on opposite sides by cladding made of optically transparent material having a lower index of refraction than the light conducting core to cause total internal reflection of conducted light within the light conducting core at the core-cladding interface. A lighting device includes an optic light guide having a free end that emits directional light. Surrounding the free end is a sleeve having an aperture through which a beam of light emitted by the free end of the light guide passes. The sleeve may be moved in and out relative to the free end to vary the size of the beam of light passing through the aperture.
