An apparatus for application of liquids to a continuously conveyed outer layer having a rotating plate which is horizontal and parallel to the outer layer or with a deviation of up to 15&#xb0; from horizontal, wherein a liquid applied to the rotating plate is ejected centrifugally from the rotating plate via rotation and then, via gravity, passed onto the outer layer below the rotating plate, is provided.

Method for the production of composite elements based on isocyanate-based foams

The invention relates to a process for production of composite elements composed of at least one outer layer a) and of an rigid isocyanate-based foam b), where between the outer layer a) and the rigid isocyanate-based foam b) an adhesion promoter c) has been applied, and where the outer layer a) is continuously moved and the adhesion promoter c) and the starting material for the rigid isocyanate-based foam b) are applied successively to the outer layer, which comprises applying the adhesion promoter c) by means of a rotating plate which has been installed horizontally or with a deviation of up to 15&#xb0; from horizontal, preferably parallel to the outer layer.

Polyetherols based on solid initiator substances and liquid, hydroxyl-containing coinitiators are prepared by a catalyzed addition reaction of alkylene oxides by a process in which the initiator combination contains diols carrying ethoxy structures, the ratio of the average number of hydroxyl groups per mole of initiator combination to the number of ethoxy structures in the polyetherol being from 1:0.2 to 1:1.8 and the ratio of the amounts by weight of the diols carrying ethoxy structures to the average molecular weight of the polyetherol being from 1:2 to 1:15. The polyetherols prepared by this process are used for the preparation of PUR, in particular, rigid PUR foams.

Preparation of polyetherols

Prepolymers which contain isocyanate groups, have an NCO content of at least 30.0% by weight and can be prepared by reacting an isocyanate mixture consisting predominantly of diphenylmethane diisocyanates and polyphenylpolymethylene polyisocyanates and having a proportion of two-ring isomers of not more than 74% by weight with at least 4-functional polyols or a mixture of polyols having a mean functionality of at least 4, where the polyols or polyol mixtures have a hydroxyl number of from 200 to 1650 mg KOH/g and a number average molecular weight of less than 1100 g/mol. The present invention also provides a process for preparing these prepolymers containing isocyanate groups, provides for their use for producing polyurethanes and provides a process for producing polyurethanes by reacting at least one novel prepolymer containing isocyanate groups, if desired in admixture with further organic and/or modified organic isocyanates (a), with compounds having at least two reactive hydrogen atoms (b) in the presence of, if desired, blowing agents (c), catalysts (d) and, if desired, further auxiliaries and/or additives (e).
