Wavelength conversion of primary light by means of a conversion body, a conversion device and an illumination apparatus is described herein. In some aspects, a conversion body may include a main body containing a wavelength-converting phosphor. The main body may have an irradiation surface to be irradiated by primary light. The conversion body may further include at least one conduction tract mounted on the main body outside the irradiation surface. The at least one conduction track may be electrically conductive in accordance with some aspects.

Wavelength conversion of primary light by means of a conversion body

According to the present disclosure, a converter device is provided. The device includes a phosphor element for converting a pump radiation into a conversion radiation and an excitation coil for producing an alternating magnetic field in which the phosphor element is arranged. The phosphor element has a conductor loop forming a coupling coil that is inductively coupled to the excitation coil such that the coupling coil and hence the phosphor element can be monitored by way of the inductive coupling.

Converter device and irradiation device having such a converter device

A conversion device includes a carrier body, a conversion body, which is secured on the carrier body, for converting electromagnetic radiation, a conduction track, which is applied on the conversion body, for monitoring the conversion body, and a contact element applied on the carrier body. The contact element has a first layer construction including at least a first contact layer and a second contact layer including mutually different materials. The conduction track has a second layer construction including at least a first conduction layer and a second conduction layer comprising mutually different materials. The contact element is electrically connected to the conduction track. At least one of the first conduction layer or the second conduction layer are electrically conductive and the thickness of said conductive layers is chosen such that an electrical impedance of the conduction track lies in a predetermined range.

Conversion device with stacked conductor structure

An optical converter is to be simply and reliably monitored. Thereto, a circuit device including a measurement bridge with a measurement branch, a first comparison branch and a second comparison branch is provided. A conductor path loop of the converter can be integrated in the measurement branch. The first comparison branch has a first series resistance variable via a first active element. Similarly, the second comparison branch has a second series resistance variable via a second active element. The first and the second active elements are respectively controllable by the same control signal. The circuit device further has an evaluation circuit with a first comparator and a second comparator, the outputs of which form the control signal and at the same time an output signal of the circuit device in AND-gated manner. Each comparator compares a tap of its respective comparison branch to a tap of the measurement branch.

Monitoring an optical converter

A phosphor arrangement for at least partly converting an excitation radiation is provided. The phosphor arrangement includes a phosphor and a fracture detector used for monitoring the phosphor. The fracture detector includes at least one line track which is operatively connected to the phosphor. The line track extends around the phosphor at least in sections with at least one loop.
