The present disclosure relates to DC transmission. Some embodiments may include a device for DC transmission comprising: a superconducting transmission line including a superconducting conductor element; and a cooling device for cooling an inner region of the transmission line with a fluid coolant to a temperature below a critical temperature of the superconducting conductor element. The superconducting transmission line may comprise a vacuum-insulated sleeve thermally isolating the inner region of the transmission line from a warmer outer surrounding area. The cooling device may comprise a feed device feeding coolant at an end region of the transmission line into the inner region of the transmission line. The transmission line may be free of internally arranged feed devices for feeding coolant at locations away from the end region.

The present disclosure relates to cooling devices. It may include a first coolant line extending radially outwardly from the hollow space and an annular first distribution line fluidically connected to the hollow space via the first coolant line.

One or more connecting tubes are provided in the cooling arrangement and connect one cooling tube loop to the other cooling tube loop of the at least one pair of cooling tube loops.

A superconducting electrical machine includes a rotor with a rotor outer housing surrounding a winding support having a superconducting winding. The rotor has on a torque-transmitting side a first, rigid connection device between the winding support and the rotor outer housing and on the opposite side a second connection device which compensates for axial expansion of the winding support. The second connection device has an axially extending connection element which is on one end connected rigidly to the winding support and which has on the opposite free end an axially moving, radially force-fitting connection to a centering holding element of the rotor outer housing. The holding element includes a bushing through the rotor outer housing, through which the free end of the connection element of the second connection device passes. The superconducting winding is cooled and thermally insulated.

A superconducting machine for supporting a coolant feed line for superconducting machines includes a hollow shaft that can be connected to the superconducting machine in a first region, the coolant feed line being disposed in the interior thereof for feeding the coolant from the refrigeration unit to the superconducting machine. A magnetic support is disposed in the first region of the hollow shaft so that a radial and thus motion-damping, centering force is exerted on the coolant feed line. The magnetic support has a first and a second magnetic cylinder, wherein the first magnetic cylinder is disposed on the outer jacket of the coolant feed line and the second magnetic cylinder is disposed on the inner face of the hollow shaft. The first magnetic cylinder is a cylinder made of highly electrically conductive material having ohmic resistance.

Device and method for damped, non-contact support of a coolant feed line for superconducting machines

An apparatus and a method for cooling a super conducting machine are disclosed, in which at least two condenser areas each make thermal contact with a cold head, and in which the at least two condenser areas each have a connecting line, via which the at least two condenser areas are connected fluidically to an evaporator area. A liquid cooling fluid can be moved or pumped from at least one condenser area into the evaporator area by way of a temperature difference, and a pressure difference associated therewith, in the at least two condenser areas.

A cooling device is disclosed for cooling a superconductor, wherein the cooling device includes a linear compressor for compressing a working medium and a cooling unit for providing a cooling power to a cryogenic coolant of the superconductor by expanding the working medium. The linear compressor includes two pistons of which at least one, preferably both synchronously relative to each other, are displaceable at a frequency and a stroke linear to the other piston, wherein a defined cooling power can be generated at a good efficiency so that the cooling device is suitable for use particularly in mobile installations, such as ships. A pulsed magnetic field is generated by a device having a magnet to be operated in pulse operation which contains at least one superconductive refrigerant-free winding that is disk-shaped or saddle-shaped. Also included is a refrigerating unit which has at least one cold head. A line system, having a refrigerant circulating in it according to a thermosiphon effect, thermally couples the winding to the cold head. The line system has a plurality of separate pipes lying next to one another. The pipes, open onto a common refrigerant distributor and closed at the other end, are thermally coupled to the surface of the disk-shaped or saddle-shaped winding.
